Yesterday I would have played him in the 6 though as he’s a better 6 than Fulton so you measure the delta between each option. But that’s the beauty behind his signing and ability to play multiple roles.

Stamenic is a better 6 than Galbraith
Galbraith is a better RB than Key

That’s all there is to it and I agree with Vitor Matos.
I probably agree with both of those statements but the bigger question, now we are pretty much nailed on to be in the Championship next season, is where do you see Galbraith playing next season (assuming he's still with us)?

If the answer to that is in midfield then I'd much rather use these last 12 games to work out what combinations of midfielders work well at Championship level as opposed to finding out next August/September. Finding this out, whilst using Key/Ward at right back seems far more beneficial in the medium/long-term to me.

Still for me RB. He won’t displace Stamenic, then where do you play him?

He can’t play the 10, he’s nowhere near a 10 and we have Walta there. He’s probably too small to play alongside Walta in the 8 as our central midfield will be tiny.

What he may do is selectively play in the middle against smaller teams.

good morning all, another option could be to play ward there and use Key as an out and out attacker who should be able to use his defensive qualities to assist ward, only a thought but that would allow Galbraith to play in a position he is better at and could in an emrgancy revert back to the full back position and we would not be using a sub to re adjust again saying only a thought.
yesterdays game for me showed that this new manager is a major plus and has the lads all working together, this season , as others have said could have seen us higher and for me this is where we are at the moment a good midfield side and with a bit more quality brought in in the summer we may whilst it will be harder with the teams coming downfid ourselves in the mix next season
not an easy game on saturday but would take a point now
I suggested this in the match thread last night

Ward @ RB - he is a RB
Key @ RW - he's not as good a RB as Ward but he's a better RW than Ronald IMO
Galbraith @ CM - he's a decent RB but he's a better midfielder
Nunes @ LW - last night he looked far better there than our other options

Ronald & Eom on the bench

The only decisions to make then are:-
DM Stamenic or Fulton - Stamenic for me, has more to his game
1 x midfield slot from Franco, Widell, Yalcouye, Walta - Widell for me atm - to make the whole team play quicker right from the start and not just for the last 20 minutes

My team would be:-

...................................Vigs
.................Cabango.........Burgess
.....Ward.............................................Tymon
................................Stamenic
..................Galbraith............Widell
Key................................................................Nunes
....................................Vipi

It’s hard to pick holes in that. My only dilemma is who plays deepest out of Stamenic and Galbraith.

For me Stamenic is a holding midfielder
Franco alongside .
Galbraith at right back .

If that’s what the manager and club feel then I’d definitely be looking to cash in over the summer if a 7 figure offer comes in.

Personally, I think people are too hung up these days on if players are a 6, 8 or 10 - the key for me is how the 3 midfielders compliment one another and their link up with the rest of the side.

*should be 8 figure!!

you mean 8 figure surely?

Ward In RB, Galbraith in Midfield with Stamenic and Franco. Can't see Franco being dropped anytime soon. Due to his work rate. Still think Galbraith will be RB on the weekend. But the moment we have a proper RB, it's defo a dilemma. Which something we have not had in a while with midfield. Key needs a start as reward for his efforts yesterday. Rest Ronald.

Previous managers would not have made that call. Thankfully Matos can see what the fans see and make the correct changes.
Personally I never have understood why managers wait until 60th minute if we needed changes before that. Matos made change last weekend I believe around 55 minutes as well. I'm all for early changes. He got it wrong with the starting lineup and did something.

Ronald has none of the attributes of an attacking winger. No pace, no skill to beat players, no end product. If anything, he’s a full back! Stamenic and Galbraith together doesn’t really work, we’ve seen that, especially when you add in Franco. Maybe Stam/Gal/Widdell or Walta or Yalcouye would work. Got to be worth a shot to see.

Unfortunately I don’t think it’s a problem we’ll have for long. Galbraith’s agent will be working his socks off to get him a move and I’d be surprised to see him here next year,
I have held off on writing off Ronald. I still can't bring myself to do it. He is hot and cold, just like Eom. But when on it is a handful. But we all know he should be doing far better. I do wonder if its in Matos thinking if he wants to replace them in the summer or not.

Based on Galbraiths first and second half performances the lads needs to be played in the middle of the of the park.

We have Key, Ward and Parker in the squad as offical right backs and one of those needs to play ahead of Ethan, who in my humble opinion was awful at full back last night.
Im noticing that alot of teams are targeting Galbraith more and more and he is being found out a bit. I understand he has attributes to play in that position and Matos had to do something because of Key leaking goals. But I do think we have to start to do something. It's a shame Ward doesn't have the legs. We have been screaming out for a RB for a while and with Naughton gone it didn't help.

Given the personnel at our disposal it could benefit from trying out a change in formation. If Stamenic could play as the central ball playing centre back in a 3, that allows Tymon and Key to play as wing backs which they are both best suited as and remove the need to play Ronald and Eom. It also then frees up a midfield spot so Galbraith, and 2 of Widell, Yalcouye and Widell can play with Vipi up top with Cullen/Nunes playing off him
