You’re forgetting that 10 other players were on the pitch as well.

Of course, but the clear trend is that we are more successful with Galbraith adding another CM body via his RB starting spot.

The team is clearly stronger with him there despite the frantic noise by those who refuse to see what we miss when he doesn’t.

21…

Got to love the way meaningless stats are used to ‘prove’ points. If Galbraith plays central midfield against Coventry away and we lose, and right back against Sheffield Wednesday at home and we win, that proves he’s better played at right back.

I blame Yanks (in general, for everything).

That’s just 1 game each though.

This is a third of a season in each position. Given that sample size, you would imagine that the opposition faced would be largely similar quality overall in comparison.

Bollocks. Your comparison is completely meaningless.

I’m out because we’ve all witnessed you’re like a dog with a bone over this. Enjoy your evening squire.

Galbraith at RB

15 games:
7 wins
6 losses
2 draws
(23 points from 15)

Galbraith in CM (6/8/10 combined)

16 games:
4 wins
7 losses
5 draws
(17 points from 16)
How many of those games he played CM were under Sheehan's reign?
I don't think those stats really show a true picture given our improvement in style of play under Matos.

I can do it for Leyton Orient if you want?

Galbraith at RB

Played: 31
Win: 23
Draw: 1
Loss: 7
(70 points from 31)

Galbraith in CM (6/8/10 combined)

Played: 35
Win: 13
Draw: 9
Loss: 13
(48 points from 35)

His teams are more successful with him as a RB and adding an extra positional 6 when in possession. It’s a strength most teams don’t have, it should be celebrated and not wished away.

Not really, I asked what number of the games he played in CM under Sheehan's reign.

We were 1-0 down last night when he was at RB and was caught out of position for the goal.
He went into CM and he was superb and seemed to be playing with his chest out and really enjoying playing there and the switch not only changed our dynamics but made us look a better balanced team.

Another stat that might be interesting is Galbraith's record at RB in away games for Swansea?

How doesn’t that help? That shows that no matter the level, manager or team, he has 50 games+ in each position and his teams are more successful when he plays RB, by some distance.

He was definitely better in CM than RB last night, but that’s a sample size of 45 mins in a game state where Preston were sitting on their lead and giving us the ball, as opposed to 100 games of random game states.

The 100 games says he’s better for the team at RB, but that’s not to say he still can’t be used there in the right situation.

Every fecker known to man, woman and child will tell you Galbraith's natural and best position is in the centre of midfield apart from one person.

Honestly it is bizarre.

I would like to see him given a run of games in midfield under Matos. I could be proven wrong and he is more suited to RB as a whole but I believe he could be a revelation in midfield in a Matos style of play.

It's random given we pushed for Galbraith as a replacement for Grimes in Jan 25 which indicates we saw him as a midfielder.

I will leave it at that because it's just going over old ground but his performance from Midfield last night was outstanding and he totally controlled the game. If he is better at RB then we have a Cafu on our hands.

Except the managers that play him RB for half his career that is…

Do you have any links that say the club saw Galbraith as a Grimes replacement? Or was that assumed due to us being interested around the time when Grimes left?

I seem to remember it was LOB that was the Grimes replacement and Galbraith interest came after that. I don’t recall the club making any statement at all regarding Galbraith in January.

I'd say more bordering on obsessive than random
