The RB situation-Key and Galbraith

Can just imagine the headstone

Here lies John Jones

"Galbraith was a better RB than Key"

Yesterday I would have played him in the 6 though as he’s a better 6 than Fulton so you measure the delta between each option. But that’s the beauty behind his signing and ability to play multiple roles.

Stamenic is a better 6 than Galbraith
Galbraith is a better RB than Key

That’s all there is to it and I agree with Vitor Matos.
I probably agree with both of those statements but the bigger question, now we are pretty much nailed on to be in the Championship next season, is where do you see Galbraith playing next season (assuming he's still with us)?

If the answer to that is in midfield then I'd much rather use these last 12 games to work out what combinations of midfielders work well at Championship level as opposed to finding out next August/September. Finding this out, whilst using Key/Ward at right back seems far more beneficial in the medium/long-term to me.

Still for me RB. He won’t displace Stamenic, then where do you play him?

He can’t play the 10, he’s nowhere near a 10 and we have Walta there. He’s probably too small to play alongside Walta in the 8 as our central midfield will be tiny.

What he may do is selectively play in the middle against smaller teams.

good morning all, another option could be to play ward there and use Key as an out and out attacker who should be able to use his defensive qualities to assist ward, only a thought but that would allow Galbraith to play in a position he is better at and could in an emrgancy revert back to the full back position and we would not be using a sub to re adjust again saying only a thought.
yesterdays game for me showed that this new manager is a major plus and has the lads all working together, this season , as others have said could have seen us higher and for me this is where we are at the moment a good midfield side and with a bit more quality brought in in the summer we may whilst it will be harder with the teams coming downfid ourselves in the mix next season
not an easy game on saturday but would take a point now
I suggested this in the match thread last night

Ward @ RB - he is a RB
Key @ RW - he's not as good a RB as Ward but he's a better RW than Ronald IMO
Galbraith @ CM - he's a decent RB but he's a better midfielder
Nunes @ LW - last night he looked far better there than our other options

Ronald & Eom on the bench

The only decisions to make then are:-
DM Stamenic or Fulton - Stamenic for me, has more to his game
1 x midfield slot from Franco, Widell, Yalcouye, Walta - Widell for me atm - to make the whole team play quicker right from the start and not just for the last 20 minutes

My team would be:-

...................................Vigs
.................Cabango.........Burgess
.....Ward.............................................Tymon
................................Stamenic
..................Galbraith............Widell
Key................................................................Nunes
....................................Vipi
