• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Always use an Avios credit card on my phone. Pay it in full every month by direct debit so never pay interest.
Trips to Vienna and Munich this year for both of us paid in full by Avios. Works for us.

Are you doing your online shopping through the Avios shopping portal? Some retailers offer upwards of 10 points per £.

I just downloaded this. It just looked at my existing Apple account and confirmed my age from that. I literally had to click once to “continue”. Painless.
No doubt because you have been with Apple many years, I won’t be updating, I’ve only just found out that debit cards are not acceptable as proof of age, even if it’s associated with your Apple Pay. ?

And this is not me now saying it, because it’s a violation of privacy, I’m just worried I may get locked out of online bookmakers (not that I’m a massive gambler, but I do enjoy a bet on the footy) Be a right nightmare to hit a stumbling block with verification.

Noting to do with how long you have been with Apple for. If you have a debit or credit card set up on your phone it's fine.

The danger of not keeping your software up to date is far greater than accepting some terms and conditions when updating to the latest software.

This is very true, in fact, nearly every update will make essential software improvements on security as well as other improvements/features.

Take a look at this, it’s from the Apple Support page, regarding the new update. It tells you there, that debit card’s aren’t accepted as proof of age, also the same is being reported on other websites with regards to having a debit card for Apple Pay being accepted.

With regards to the account duration, lots of people saying with long standing Apple accounts, it bypasses the need for further verification.

I've updated the software on my phone with no bother whatsoever and have access to all my apps such as my sky bet account.

Honestly don't what all the fuss is about.

Edit: Just noticed that article looks like it's about opening a new account with Apple.

Exactly. I'm like a broken record in our house telling them all update their gear.

It will too late when the Chinese secret service have bundled them in to the back of van.

Perhaps that's what happened to Skippy? He chose not to update his software 🤔

That information regarding a new account is still applicable.

You may well have updated with zero issues, for some reason I think I will, At the moment, I just can’t be bothered to faff around with silly stuff like this, yes I have a photo driving license, last thing I need at the moment is spending wasted time dealing with Apple if it fails.

I guess my point on this is, why are Apple causing unnecessary headache for people, and bullshit us about a uk law requirement, when it is not?

Just do it, mun.

Not doing it could cost you more in the long term when the Russians are using your identity to buy sofas from DFS.
