He may be but my understanding is that he came from a fairly modest background (toolmaker, nurse blah blah) was then a lawyer, then a civil servant then a politician. I’m not suggesting he’s skint but unless there’s something I don’t know I very much doubt he’s a multimillionaire.

The Knighthood is something that gives the impression of all this.

He’s just a guy from a modest background with a brain who has done well in life.

If you begrudge that then that’s simply envy. My guess is that he’s probably got assets exceeding a million which isn’t particularly unusual in that part of the Country.
