• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Oldham away first full season under Roberto. Lost 2-1 but we annihilated them.On the walk back to the Railway Station a number of Oldham supporters told us we would go up as Champions.

They were good judges.
That pre season was a funny old one, we were totally aware of what was coming.
I remember walking to the friendly at Port Talbot and the news of Trundle leaving was being talked about between fans.... disappointment was certainly felt.
I wasn't at that Oldham game but people who were there were raving about how well we played.

I was raving, that we had lost after completely dominating the match for 90 mins. Have never been as angry at the end of a match as i was that day . I'm glad i didn't bump into Alan Tate after the game, gave an absolutely stupid penalty away to hand them the match.

very late on to hand them the match.
Was it Curtis Davies who scored 2 for them, including the gift wrapped penalty?

Drawing 0-0 with Bristol City on a Friday night to avoid going 1st Division to 4th in successive seasons.

Back in the 80s I know, but was up there with the despair of that Exeter game for me.

I Was at the game think Jimmy Rimmer was in goal thankfully avoided relegation .

Bond signed a few players Derek Parlane was one pretty sure there was an ex Ipswich player .

Remember walking back to the car-Oldham fan on the phone 'We were absolutely battered. No love, we won 2-1".
My favourite season-watched many games in the north against teams we have not played since (Port Vale, Crewe etc.) and a lot of home games which were bittersweet watching my step dad fading away but at least being able to be there for him and my mum. He passed away at the end of the season.

Robin Turner. Bond performed his own miracle. He signed a gaggle of freebies. Paul Price, Alan Waddle came back. Ray McHale, Colin Sullivan.

Crawley away on the route to Wembley.
Proper old school ground.
Terracing and a decent burger van, just inside the ground for the catering.
Tidy pricing as well.

Was missing the silly school night away matches, like Grimsby, Carlisle and a few other late morning getting home games

Blaze had a brand new iPad with WiFi and he was posting updates live from the game.
