• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Profit and Sustainability - is dead and replaced

Didn’t he say the sponsor they have lined up is bigger than anything we had in the Premier League?
It's a while ago now but i thought he was talking about him hoping that we would have access to bigger sponsorships rather than anything actually being agreed with anyone.

I remember people talking about our front of shirt sponsors but we have Reviva as ours for atleast another year.

When you think about it, we never had huge front of shirt sponsors in the PL so it could have just been Gorringe telling the truth but making it sound more than it was.

Will be interesting to see what happens in the coming months.

Yes, he did
Here are his words:

Gorringe says the arrival of two such high-profile figures has made Swansea "interesting and exciting to people outside the city".

"Luka and Snoop have brought a whole load of additional attention to the football club and that provides a huge amount of opportunity," Gorringe said at a fans' forum held at the Swansea.com Stadium on Wednesday.

"I think we have done a really good job of maximising what we can do on a local basis but now the parameters have moved.

"It puts us in front of different companies, different brands, and allows us to tell an authentic story to people we wouldn't have been able to get in front of before.

"We have already had discussions with brands about significant deals which would eclipse anything we have done in the past."

He said it when being interviewed on a podcast, not at the fans forum

Don't get too exited about it. I think most fans have realised that a bit of things put out over the last 12 months have been sugar coated.
This conversation was brought up in and around the time of the podcast.

Like what?

Like what?
Signings, investment and progression.

I don't see it as an issue myself but I think like everything it becomes clearer over time.
Nothing wrong with a bit of spin in the right situation, they haven't used it in regards deflection so all good on that front.

Ah ok, so you don't see an issue, just shit stirring, again.

I hope i'm wrong, but I get the feeling that this "big sponsor" is going to be a bit like the "wow signing". Gorringe shouldn't have said anything about it :ROFLMAO:
That wow signing was a rumour started by someone on here, in fact it was the poster that started this here thread.

It's just a view and opinion that has been discussed over the course of the season.
It's hardly stirring raising points that are quite valid and are probably clearer than it was at the time of the original discussions. I don't see it as an issue as I have said, I don't see it as a bad thing.....these things happen all the time and it's just normality rather than a bad thing.
You can say someone promoting their product and maybe getting over excited with it isn't a bad thing, I would say it shows enthusiasm and drive so in that sense the complete opposite.
