As I sit here on my chair typing this, it’s caused me to reflect on the JackArmy.net going supernova at midnight tonight.

As a long term lurker and short term poster, It’s been a real blast.

Even so, home is where the heart is as they say, and so reluctantly and with more than the single solitary tear in my eye, I bid this site a fond but lingering farewell as I’m drawn, once again to the call of the Swans from a new and burgeoning forum that, I’m hoping at least, is not too dissimilar to this one.

My sentiments on this fateful day pop pickers, is this very emotionally charged number, about the mourning of the loss of a profoundly significant, longterm relationship that has come to an end unexpectedly.

The reasons for the this parting of the ways has been explained to us this last month and, although upsetting and painful, needs to excepted for what it is, which is a man who has given his all to the Swans cause, and who can’t give another bead of sweat, pint of blood or eyeful of tears for that cause.

Thank you Phil and enjoy your retirement.

Popped in to give some massive respect to Phil and his support team.
I was hooked after our promotion at Bury when our Keeper got arrested lol
I haven’t been around in the last few years due to a career change. However I can see all the usual posters still posting love you all

This was always the best Swans online space, and it's sad to see it go. There have been plenty of alternatives over the years, some predating j.net of course, but many of the others often seemed to cater for particular types of fan, whether by accident or design. I knew j.net was the place for me as it had fans from all kinds of backgrounds; We had all the stands at the Vetch represented - including, in the Rivals.net days, plenty of away fans - and what a contribution they made to the pleasure of spending time on this site! Oxoman, to name just one, was genuinely one of my favourite posters; top-trolling.

If you wanted long-form serious discussion about on the pitch or off the pitch, you could have it, it you wanted to wallow in tabloid nonsense or hardcore terrace talk, you could do that too. It encouraged and created a space for non-football talk as well, and that's been one of it's strengths. It's always felt like it represented the entire fanbase, warts and all, more than any other forum and that's why it's always been the best.

Thanks, Phil, for evrything you have done with this forum from day 1, and everything you've done off the forum for fostering and preserving the dignity of the wider Swans community. Absolute legend; hopefully you'll pop in to the new site, unburdened by the responsibilities of ownership, just to talk bollocks on the Swans like the rest of us, or just to say hi and reminisce on the past. Thanks also for encouraging me to submit a bunch of articles to the site back in the day. It was a good outlet for me at the time and throughly enjoyed it,

What better way to sign out than...
