• We have today (22nd April) confirmed the closure of JackArmy.net on 31st May. Our reasons are varied but after a twenty-five year stint at the heart of the online Swansea City community, the time is right for us to bow out. Exactly. It remains to be seen if he'll prove to be a good signing, but I think there's been some positive signs given his lack of minutes. I don't think we can deny he was a very expensive purchase for us, even if the current spend on the transfer is nowhere near £7m. However, most of these...

    Our centre backs

I could see an argument that Burgess for Darling was an upgrade under Sheehan and the way he wanted us to play, but the opposite is true under Matos. I feel a bit for the bloke, he's obviously got his strengths and he has been ever-present as others have pointed out, but him and Cabango don't...

Talking of Matos' subs, I'm not sure the new rules around substitutions are helping. It means we often make multiple subs at the same time to maximise how many we can make and I think it upsets the rhythm of the team.

The alternative was he ran at 5 players and inevitably got tackled. Thinking decisions like that cost us the game is nonsense.

To be fair to him, on one occasion it was because he'd won the ball back and had around 5 Southampton players closer to him than any of ours. Given it was 1-1 at the time, it was probably the right decision to slow play down and keep the ball.

    Keir Starmer

I'm sorry Max, but a lot of that is nonsense and backs up what ECB and jack_lord have said earlier in the thread about the influence of the media and social media. As someone who works with unemployed people, while there are many, many issues with the benefits system, encouraging people to stay...

The inheritance tax threshold is £500k if the main home is included. If there's more than that, I don't think any offspring is going to be on the breadline after they pay the tax.

I watched the first series with the wife. She wasn't keen, but I enjoyed. Keep meaning to go back to it, think it's up to 5 seasons now? Ronald D Moore knows how to make sci-fi shows.

    Zan Vipotnik

Although I tend to agree Piroe isn't good enough for the PL, it's not realistic to claim anything has been proven. Here are his minutes in PL games for Leeds this season: 78, 58, 11, 17, 16, 10, 4, 3, 3, 3, 5, 3, 3, 6. Not many strikers are going to have scored many at the top level with that...

    Zan Vipotnik

I have thought the same, plus it took Gyokeres two seasons of healthy goal scoring before Sporting paid big money for him. The big difference between Piroe and Vipotnik was that Piroe was heading into the final 12 months of his contract. It was get what we could for him or lose him for nothing...
