• We have today (22nd April) confirmed the closure of JackArmy.net on 31st May. Our reasons are varied but after a twenty-five year stint at the heart of the online Swansea City community, the time is right for us to bow out.

    The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 3 Charlton Athletic 1 | Att: 19,245 | Saturday 2nd May 2026 | The EFL Championship | The Swansea.com Stadium

This thread probably has some life in it yet but seeing as it’s (as things currently stand anyway) the last ever JA.net/Planet Swans match thread, a huge shout out to Jackharris for his work on these over the years in making them by far the most popular and engaging match threads on the whole of...

But it all those police front desks had been still open all would have been fine.

Seems the Islamist who carried out an antisemitic attack also stabbed a Muslim during said attack. Worst Islamist ever.

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

You’re one of the reasons I said it would have to be tightly controlled. Off you pop.

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

Those of us who do want to keep in touch could perhaps swap emails or phone numbers (privately obvs) perhaps for a WhatsApp group. Just a thought if anyone in interested. Would need to be very tightly controlled.

Same here. No desire to go anywhere else given some of my experience and knowledge. It’s all about the people here.

    Senedd Election 2026

This is the most important election, Senedd or Westminster, that Wales has ever had. We can’t afford to get it wrong and become the UK’s Reform guinea pig.

    Senedd Election 2026

What’s amusing me in this election is the number or people who say they are “leaning towards reform because the others are all terrible”. Shut up mun you’re voting for them because they are finally the party that aligns with your world view. You’re voting for a party for government in wales...

    Senedd Election 2026

I take your point. Mostly the two align for me but far from always. But I’d be and have been quite happy to vote for a party less aligned with my own views if they were best placed to beat a party or parties that I’d never countenance voting for.

    Senedd Election 2026

You may consider it sad but it’s not a new phenomenon. I’ve been voting for whichever party has been best placed to beat the party or parties I’d least like to win for about 30 years. How you do that depends on where you live, what election it is and what kind of electoral system is in use.

    Senedd Election 2026

I realise this is selective quoting and I agree with the thrust of the article, although not all, but this: “The idea of Celtic independence from Britain has long seemed absurd – at least to many people in England – but after next week’s elections, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland may be...

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

One football board (which would include the legendary match day threads) and one non footie board which I’d be happy to look after so no one else has to bother if they don’t want to. The non footie chat has always been as big a feature of the site as the footie chat. But I get not everyone’s...

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

Anyone who tries to keep this site’s legacy alive is going to need a lot of help, a thick skin, a high tolerance level of stupidity and the ability to ignore loud shouters. I hope someone does. If they do they’ll at least have plenty of help and support as this thread and the reaction to Phil’s...

    Senedd Election 2026

Postal vote sent today cos we’re away for the next week or so. Uppa Plaid. Uppa basically anyone but Reform and/or Tories. They’re pretty much the same thing these days anyway.

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

If we could keep the forum alive , that should be the priority. Phil has said to me many times that it’s not the “news” that drives sites like these it’s the forum and the community that builds up around it. People come to these sites for the forum and conversation, not the articles. In the main...
