• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Season 23/24 | The Official Match Thread | Bristol City vs Swansea City | The EFL Championship

Ronald and Placheta couldn't set each other up in a brothel.

Do you just skip the matches where he gets chances and fluffs them? The "he just needs service!" brigade were answered weeks ago. Even when Cullen doesn't touch the ball he offers far more with his pressing (something we were told Yates was excellent at).

Two free men. Would say it's another poor second half but we weren't good first tonight.

Tymon's got some cheek complaining about that card. He's smashed the lad. Paterson doesn't look fit at all.

Looks like we still have Piroe after all

But he didn't drag us up, and the £5m a year he was earning had a massive impact on other business (to say nothing of the outstanding instalments of his ridiculous transfer fee). If only we'd been relegated one year earlier, when we had assets we could sell instead of crippling liabilities.

    Mykolo Kuharevych?

Lowe has pace? Where's he been hiding it?

    Ronald

Plenty of doubt about that number, surely. We've routinely got over £10m for all our best young players, apart from those who had contracts running down or fell out massively with the club. People choosing to be miserable and refusing to let reality get in the way. Enjoy a good player making an...

    Ronald

Cheer up, he might get a bad injury or turn to shit like some of our other players.

    Tymon

Best crosser of the ball we have but defensively continues to fall short.

What a player Yates must be in training to keep getting put out on a football pitch.

    New shares

As I said, some fans don't/won't realise that Championship football clubs all lose enormous sums of money every year, and assume the crafty businessmen must be squirrelling fortunes out somehow (faster than they're visibly putting it in)..

    New shares

Many people genuinely think all football is like the PL where clubs naturally turn a profit and have pocket money to spend every transfer window. So when we sell a player for £15m and only spend £5m you get posts asking "where has all the money gone!?!" It's fair enough from an average...

More money being poured in to cover operating losses. That's the Championship for you.

    U21s today at Ipswich

3-3 at half time (edit: just after), complete collapse. Archie Matthews in goal was supposed so be out on loan, I thought he was recalled due to injury but if he's already playing it can't have been that bad. No strikers in the team and not many defenders either. Six players I'd consider central...

    We're down

We kept Andre Ayew those seasons because he'd flopped in Turkey and no one would give us more than pennies on the dollar towards covering his wages at the time. The assets had to go because we had too many liabilities (Bony another huge one). We absolutely did use the parachute as a cushion as...

"If we don't learn then we won't be in the game against top teams" - Williams verdict on Leeds defeat

I seem to remember we got smashed against a big side with him as well...

    We're down

If you look back at our sales we got great value for DJ, Rodon and McBurnie. Championship-to-lower-PL players, 8 figures apiece. We didn't accept the first offers either. Sometimes it works out (McBurnie), sometimes it doesn't (Jordan Ayew, Wood, Obafemi). Piroe had a wobble when we priced him...

Ipswich Town next up for the Swans but there should be nothing to fear?

He wasn't binned, we offered him an extension because he'd been injured half his only pro year, but he wanted to go play first team football instead. I didn't think he'd make it back to this level, especially after Wycombe got rid, but fair play to him scored a lot of goals in League Two.
