Looks like we still have Piroe after all

….maybe the last 35 games were just an awful nightmare and Joel never left and Yates never joined…….
If we are going back in time could we go back far enough so we never

* Bought Clucas
* Bought Ayew and Bony for the second time

I could go on :ROFLMAO:

Agree about Clueless and Bony but disagree about Ayew
Obviously when we went down his wages were a significant millstone around our necks but he never gave less than 100% for us and the two seasons under Cooper he was almost singlehandedly determined to drag us back up.

Watching Piroe for Leeds last night, he’ll soon be back to the Swans rehab/retirement home.

By the way Stoke were bloody impressive second half, gave the Puddings a real fright and should have drawn. There’s going to be a lot of twitching for a lot of clubs over the next ten games. We have 9 points from 5 games and still can’t drag ourselves clear. Ridiculous.

But he didn't drag us up, and the £5m a year he was earning had a massive impact on other business (to say nothing of the outstanding instalments of his ridiculous transfer fee).

If only we'd been relegated one year earlier, when we had assets we could sell instead of crippling liabilities.

A fair response

he was good at this level but, frankly for the massive amount we were paying him, he should have been.

The mistake we made was resigning him on a Premier League contract completely ignoring the fact that we were likely to be relegated

And that he wasn’t premier league quality in any shape or form if we’d stayed up. I was overjoyed when we mugged West Ham, and then, after he’d failed miserably with them, we gave them their frigging money back.
