Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Middlesbrough FC vs Swansea City | The EFL Championship

Grimes does it all the time, he's often standing between or behind the defenders as the deepest outfield player. All it does is create a big hole in the midfield, it does enable him to get his touches stats up though

Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Middlesbrough FC vs Swansea City | The EFL Championship

Stats like that are meaningless though, a completely different group of players playing against another completely different group of players

    Summer 2024 Transfer Rumours

Fully agree with that, the issue then is where are we going to get the money to replace those who leave? We have owners who don't spend money on the squad and we have very few (if any) players who could be sold for anything more than a couple of million. Just seems like a matter of time before...

    Summer 2024 Transfer Rumours

Why do we constantly seem to have a host of first team players in the last year of their contract? It always used to be typical that if a player had two years remaining, he either had to sign a new deal or be sold that summer. The club lose any sort of negotiating power once the player is down...

    Summer 2024 Transfer Rumours

Ginnelly is 27 and (according to wikipedia) has only played 214 games in his 10 year career to date. For comparison, Grimes has played more games than that in the last 4 years alone. As exciting as Ginnelly is to watch when he's fit, we shouldn't be relying on him as anything more than a bit...

Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Middlesbrough FC vs Swansea City | The EFL Championship

Same here, Saturday was great to be back in the stadium but the first home game of the season is always one to look forward to. Hopefully we're still feeling positive after the game!

Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Middlesbrough FC vs Swansea City | The EFL Championship

Yes that's what I thought. I expect there'll be about 16-17k there, depending on how many Preston bring down as well

Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Middlesbrough FC vs Swansea City | The EFL Championship

Birmingham last season was reported as 18,051 and Blackburn the season before was 16,632. Although the attendances always seem to be exaggerated so I think they go by tickets sold, rather than people through the turnstiles

Luke Williams on Rio Ave F.C. | Reaction | Men's

Completely agree, he's a financial drain on the club at the moment and his wages would be far better spent on a couple of other players who could contribute on the pitch

Luke Williams on Rio Ave F.C. | Reaction | Men's

I spoke to Joe outside the stadium after the game, he said he's hoping to be fit in a couple of weeks. Whether that happens and how long he'll stay fit before getting injured again remains to be seen

    Summer 2024 Transfer Rumours

It doesn't say they're sending him back to us, just that they're going to send him to a club in the Championship. I think you've inferred something that isn't actually there

    Summer 2024 Transfer Rumours

"Brighton to send former Swansea City goalkeeper back to Championship" What's misleading there?

Can the Swans secure an agreement for second loan with Brighton?

He could have cost us a couple of goals yesterday if the Portuguese lads could finish

Luke Williams ahead of Sunderland | Press Conference

😂 if you're going to criticise others, maybe look at yourself first

Luke Williams ahead of Sunderland | Press Conference

Probably for a similar reason someone would type "your" instead of "you're"?

    Attendances

That stadium announcer is terrible at "reading the room" as well. After every dreadful performance he comes on after the final whistle sounding as cheerful as anything to announce when the next game is and to "wish everyone a fantastic evening, nos da!!"

    Wrexham

    :ROFLMAO: fair enough!
  18. T

    Wrexham

We're not really in a position to laugh at them to be fair, they're 4th in their league with games in hand on all the teams above them. We could well end up playing in the same league as them next season

    Joel Piroe Leeds

He may not be first choice for Leeds but he's still scored almost twice as many as our leading scorers this season
  20. T

    Pederson

Which is even more of a problem when he's standing next to Grimes, who's only capable of passing the ball back to one of the defenders
