    Summer Transfer Window

It’s easy to destroy the confidence of a goalkeeper, not so easy to repair it.

I think most of the haters are also fans of Russball. I have an alternative view which is that his career was taken to the point of ruin by the crazy tactics that the team was forced to play. Whilst not a great keeper, he’s not been helped by what he was asked to do.

If Celtic and Rangers are removed from the mix then he’s mostly up against League One or League Two quality each week. Regardless of how good or bad he is, my guess is that he is still too expensive to be our back up keeper.

We won’t take that chance, no way. One late tackle, one awkward fall or one turned ankle away from having a rookie between the sticks for game after game? Zero chance of it.

I think our back up keeper will be somewhere between the two. The Fish might be too expensive and Evan Watt (whoever he is) might be too green.

I thought that Nicky Smith might have had a look in.

    The Lions in Oz

Squad named today and hardly surprising to see a very small Welsh contingent. I had hoped to see three, maybe four at a push. The fact that it’s only Jac Morgan and Tomos Williams speaks volumes. Key dates: 20th June: warm up game versus Argentina 28th June: first tour game 19th July: first...

This post just exemplifies the state of our recruitment in recent years. A sad mix of dross, pointless signings and a lack of due diligence.

I would add back up goalie to your list, so make it nine. I assume we sent him on loan in order to reduce our wage bill. If that’s true then we won’t have him warming the bench again this season.

Eight more sounds a bit of a stretch, eh? We usually take at least three on loan, so let’s consider that happens again. But another five permanent, on top of the two?

    Inter v Barça

Astonishing game of football. Barca were clearly riled going off at half time and the Flick team team talk would be wonderful to hear.

That's a bad example on my part, Arsenal might have been a better option. If the UEFA prosecution lawyers are not able to easily pick through the tangled web of ADUG, ADQ, the complexities of half brothers and extended family, then I'm not even going to attempt to start :)

I’m not sure what the other possible answers are. It won’t be administration as the majority of their debt is to Tan. He’s in for an expensive twelve months.

Hmm, there won’t be many after Chambers and if I was him I would be digging my heals in. That invariably means Tan reaching deep into his pockets for more loans.

The Man City deal with Etihad is something like £75m per year, and the only link between the airline and the ownership group is the fact that they all hail from Abu Dhabi.
