    Traitors series 2

Final episode tonight. I spend far too much of my life pondering what the faithfuls are thinking. The flaw (I think) in the game is that any faithful worth their salt is going to know there are at least two traitors in the final five.

Heh. I don't think I've ever read a thread on gridiron football where someone hasn't waded in telling everyone they're not into it. I'm almost tempted to start a thread on vegan recipes 😆 And that's not meant personally by the way. I guess it's part of the human condition.

Ah I'm with you. Yes, I'd have liked that, I reckon, but sadly never partook. (There always seemed to be lots of fighting both inside and outside the stadium. It just wasn't pleasant)

    Best content on Freeview

On BBC player I recently watched an episode of Storyville titled "Our Dad the Nazi Killer". We'll all have heard our fill of Nazi atrocities but this has some really revealing angles on what unfolded post-war. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

[I attempted to quote Cooperman's post just above. Dunno why it's not here]. I think that very much depends on the view you have of the pitch. Unfortunately the bleachers at the Oakland Alameda afforded a really crap view. There was little in the way of comms. It really wasn't very [looks...

Sky TV has entered the building, so I was able to watch Kansas v Buffalo. As much as I felt Kansas looked very good, Buffalo's receivers missed numerous golden opportunities to score. I've not seen SF yet. They're my pick by virtue of me having lived there. 😆

    Zammit Rees

I'd do the same if I was in his position. Rugby will be here waiting if and when he decides to come back.

    Well I’m in, bois

This might be obvious to some. Is there an option to switch text/background colour? This white one is causing me snow blindness.

    The dead dog thread

15 Nov 2023. White chihuahua* walking in Singleton Park was attacked and killed by two chow chows. Owner of chow chows since proving difficult to contact. *not my dog.

    Fireworks Tonight

Poor budgie. My weird dog, who as a rule is scared of her own shadow, happened to be in the garden when fireworks were going off. I opened the door to get her in but she was unfazed and wanted to stay out. The freak.

    Learning from others' mistakes

When you go on holiday and you start to feel quite unwell, don't fanny about in your hotel room. Just get to a hospital or you might suffer a cardiac arrest. Before you die of that cardiac arrest make sure you forwarded your travel insurance documents to family members rather than just have...

    The Miserable Bstard Thread

As of next week I'm gonna be a senior railcard-toting mardarse, complaining about the cold, my aching joints, things not being like they once were, and everything and everyone else. This is my thread. No optimism permitted. Things I've Learned This Week Advertise an item for a tenner on...

On Amazon Prime This Is Us A sublime series about an American extended family I've laughed like a tw@t and cried like a baby. And I'm only on series 2. Plus they've used some music from Jackson C. Frank, which scores massively in my book.

    National Conservatism

This is going on in London at present. Their promotional spiel talks about national independence, national traditions, Christian values, the threat of both China abroad and Marxism at home. But best of all, because it's a bit of a mouthful, "National Conservatism" is being shortened. To...

Issue with an old Samsung smart tv

I've got an old telly. It's "working" fine as a dumb tv but its smart options - which were ok ten years ago - are now lamentable. The only apps I can load are: BBC I-player Netflix If I got my hands on some kind of fire stick would I be able to load things like: Channel four app (whatever it's...

    Beer O'clock

Happy Friday, all. I generally prefer kicking the weekend off with summat a bit stronger but this 3.8% should mean I'm still making a degree of sense when Mrs Bear arrives home. It's alright, actually.

"I had the best night of my life"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-64746338 Mrs Bear and I are both planning to dispense with a funeral and instead leave instructions to throw a party. But this lady has surpassed even that.

The Bont - me and my dawg

I've a few hours to kill in the Bont tomorrow, but I'll have my dog with me. I've been trying to establish if there are dog friendly cafes/pubs/shops in the area (I'll have my car) but Google hasn't really shed much light on options. It looks like we might be ok to mooch around the garden...
