There is an alternative view that matos was told it will be unlikely his staff will get work permits. He was happy to accept role and build his assistants in role. I’m sure we’ll find out soon which version is correct.

Our players have 7 games to adapt before the transfer window opens. Some of those games are tough but the manager will be able to see progress or lack of it from some players: if they aren’t showing progress over 7 games , they shouldn’t be picked in the first 11 again. Let’s see what evolves...

To be honest all I want to see tonight is an improvement in aggression and a want to win rather than not wanting to lose - green shoots of recovery - I’ll be happy with that no matter the result as IF we continue to improve the results will come.

if boro haven’t announced hellberg , maybe due to work permit delay it could be another few days even a week before work permit for matos is granted. Not sure how these things work , but hellberg never worked out of Sweden whilst matos has worked in the uk before so matos work permit may be...
