• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

No announcement today might suggest work permit hasn’t cleared? Good chance O Dear is in charge Tuesday.
Might just be waiting for tomorrow morning to release a video interview and statement. Sunday evening is usually an odd time to announce anything, it’ll no doubt be released at the most effective time for social media engagement too.

That’s the problem.

We need to start thinking less like a media company and more like a football club.

I don’t mind them being savvy about that stuff to be honest, it has to come alongside good quality football decisions though and that’s where I think we’ve let ourselves down as of late.

Just my opinion, I don't think this is dictating things. It's reported he arrived today, so it makes sense to do media interviews and then concentrate on the training and everything tomorrow. I understand your sentiment but as someone who does work in marketing, its all linked but won't dictate things.
I was quoting our CEO.

He described us as a media company.

As a person in marketing, you’ll be aware that the single biggest factor in growing the profile of a football club is on field success.

I don’t mind it as long as we care more about on pitch stuff.

That interview with Gorringe was all about content and social media reach and sponsorship and nothing about the team being bloody awful. I realise that increased income helps us in the field but here’s a thought - increase income by being better.

In terms of work permits btw, I’m genuinely struggling to understand how the coaches that were named in here and elsewhere get work oermits.

Ever Matos himself doesn’t meet the automatic criteria - I’m certain he will get an exemption. But the others?

if boro haven’t announced hellberg , maybe due to work permit delay it could be another few days even a week before work permit for matos is granted. Not sure how these things work , but hellberg never worked out of Sweden whilst matos has worked in the uk before so matos work permit may be processed quicker. ? Anybody know if this is how it works ?

Work Permits hey!
Remember Gautier Otto!?
We chased, watched and all but signed him but forgot about checking if he was capable of getting a WP and/or seeing if he qualified with criteria as a non WP signing 😂

Matos will be fine though.
