• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Why do people keep yelling "Trust!"? It's been a talking shop since 2011, and even more toothless since their latest decision. Forget about them, treat them with the disdain they deserve.

Anyway, all those posting in this thread, take two minutes to email the club, not the trust, and let them know your feelings.

Just going to play devil's advocate here first.

Club has held prices since before covid.
Club had to refund ST holders during this time.
Club has had to pay wages out with little income for nearly 2 years, so I sort of understand the price rise.
I'd rather them increase prices than go titsup.

Now for my 2p worth.

Why aren't the Trust and their incompetent sell out board all over the outrage like a rash?
To busy patting yourselves on the back for going against the membership?
Scared you won't look good when drinking with the other directors? Or be shunned so it hurts your business?

After around 20 yrs, although sad I will no longer be paying subs, I'm glad I've reached the decision not to pay the Trust anymore.

What attendance would we get at £20 a ticket?

Rough maths but 11,500 at £32 or 18,000 at £20. Slightly higher stewarding costs possibly, but greater food and alcohol sales

🤷‍♂️

Ok 18k is unlikely but a good run of games and a bit of positivity about the place and who knows

Re Jack Army renewal, when I did mine on my banking details it shows I have paid THE LIBERTY STADIUM!!

Agreed. It's just that I'm seeing the Trust get a lot of stick on social media for this, but they wouldn't have been the ones to propose it.

As you say, the Trust need to give their take on it. That'll be interesting.

They are getting stick because they are now viewed as nothing more than the sellouts and owners mouth piece which they are so they are guilty by association and deserve all the stick they get. You may not agree but that's how I see it.

I get that. But they seem to be getting more flak than those at the club who actually initiated this. I think that needs to be remembered.

Trust have come out and said they disagree with the price increases and will try to work with the club.

Conspiracy theory time - this is all an elaborate ruse to get the Trust some goodwill. The club will shortly announce revisions to the pricing structure after "dialogue with the Trust"

On your first paragraph where did they say this please?

I would be surprised. What I expect are some sort of special deals that'll come along with that tagline.

Is it an exclusive or has the SCST voiced a similar message via their social media platforms? I would hope that they have.

Yes I take your point and I agree.

Some people are out of touch with reality, the Trust is dead unless you’re chums with the current chairman.

It’s been dead for a long time. If this is the only official statement then it’s another step in the wrong direction.
