• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

At 90 minutes I was happy with what we achieved and really happy with Joe's performance.
I am shocked with what happened in the last 4 minutes. I am deflated, gutted angry and upset all rolled in to one. I thought we'd win 5-0 before we scored the second but was curious why the ref was letting the assaults continue with little punishment. They could have scored a few as game went on and our manager didn't seem to actually have a plan to crowd the game out. Strange decision taking Ntcham off. I can understand why he took Joe off who was our best player by three miles but he should have stayed on for a few more. Grimes looked lost once he went off.

Ntcham looked exhausted when he went off… Allen on the other hand looked fresh as a daisy and was getting better and better

Yep…. People slagging our game management off.

I thought our game management was spot on for 90 mins… we didn’t look troubled then we concede a silly on goal (got to get closer to the man to stop the cross).

It's absolutely a game management problem, though. The amount of posession we keep we should be nailed on to be able to keep the ball from a team for the last 5 minutes of a match.

It's all in the team setup, and Martin never changes.

We did play quite a bit better tonight. We looked more balance with Allen/without Fulton.

A year on though, I just don’t think it’s good enough.

Joey was great and, imo, he’s coming back from an injury and will improve. Oh, and I can’t remember the last time we scored 4 goals in a game.

If you continue to throw comfortable leads then it's the manager's fault for not finding a solution. How many times last season? It's been twice already this season.

Aye, I’m not a Russ fan, but I missed him smashing the ball into his own net. Not all last minute f**k fests have the same genesis. That game could have been won easily by taking chances and not doing stupid things under pressure. Individual sudden incompetence by individuals is not the managers fault. The stupid goals we’ve conceded through systemic overplaying and failure to create with poor tempo and negative choices are down to him. Not the case tonight.

Spot on.

Obviously it’s very frustrating to yet again throw away a two goal lead against a team that hadn’t done a whole lot up until that point, and they’re getting more and more comical too - two own goals in injury time after Benda’s cock up last week FFS!

That said, got to agree with a few of the other posters above that we played really well for 75 odd minutes, and it’s the most I’ve enjoyed one of our games for a while. Joe was great, Ntcham had one of his best games in a Swans shirt, and Wood had an excellent first half too. We looked a lot sharper going forward and could have been out of sight.

Downsides are definitely squad depth, particularly in midfield and at wingback, and we’ve definitely developed a concerning habit of throwing away leads in games where we’ve looked comfortable. If we can keep JA fit and get ON up to be able to last 90 minutes then we’ll be okay. Think upper mid table is about the best we can hope for though given the lack of depth.

I went to bed with us 2-0 up and a minute in the clock. My thoughts were I cant face another collapse. Not even surprised to wake up to this.
Edit. I just noticed that we scored TWO own goals.
Its statistically outrageous that we keeping stuffing things up like this.
There is no way we can keep doing these things. That is the only consolation I can take from this.
I have never watched such a calamitous, chaotic, unpredictable, occasionally brilliant side as this.

Has fisher left that? Or is it too high for him?

Still absolutely sick from last night.

I tend to agree to be honest.

A calamity of errors.

1. The ball shouldn’t be allowed to be crossed in so easily.
2. Fisher has to deal with it.
3. Wood should never be scoring with a diving header into his own goal from such an acute angle. Brilliant finish tho.
