Harry Darling …

Darling's a good player, but not irreplaceable. If a deal can be done for Delcroix then I'd be more than happy with that.
Based on his performance yesterday?

I thought that Delcroix was very poor, his distribution was poor and he made a number of errors. Aerially he is far worse than Darling who is a real threat in the opposition box that wins far more than his fair share of headers and is incredibly streetwise at forcing fouls from the opposition attackers who try to put him under pressure.

Delcroix was by comparison often naive and he made several errors that lead to clear chances for Millwall. The instance in the first half where his poorly timed sliding lunge for the ball knocked it straight into the path of their striker who should have done far better when through 1v1 with Vigouroux and again in the second half where he just stopped and watched the ball while an attacker overturned his ten yard headstart to get through on goal which he fortunately blasted over the bar.

Hannes Delcroix is a hard pass from me

Yes, he was poor yesterday. But overall decent. I can't see us signing him mind. We could be left with Cabango and Lissah as our centre halves next season. The recruitment team have their work cut out. Hopefully we will sign Low and the versatile Kyprianou.

Differcult when your not playing week in week out to produce quality and continuity. Hannes could develop and prove decent cover for CB and LB

Darling is great with the ball, and he's been spraying pinpoint 60 yard passes regularly since Sheehan has been in charge. His defending has also improved under Sheehan, with fewer lapses of concentration. Overall he's definitely above average for the Championship and will be missed if he leaves.
Sorry, but pinpoint passing and Harry Darling should never be in the same sentence.
Some of his passes this season, even with Sheehan in charge, have been absolutely woeful.

I would be happy if he stayed, but he's not irreplaceable.

He's been doing that Ashley Williams thing of hitting long balls to the right flank since Sheehan has been in charge. He's not as good at it as Ash was, but he's not terrible at it.

Some of his distribution in the first half of the QPR game was a delight

Oddly enough I thought Hannes had improved over the previous games that I had seen him play in... I think he's a bit poor.

A hard NO from me.

It is as likely to go for a goal kick as it is to Ronald.

Darlings problem is he doesn't defend his own box well enough, he's ok at distribution, but just ok at this level.. 35k a week? Never in a month of Sundays I'd pay that to him..

Could see Birmingham or Wrexham paying 35k per week on him.

Also I could see them finding a better CB on that wage.

For me I really like Darling and think he he has done well. That doesn't mean he cannot be replaced. I would not be breaking the bank and going against the club's objectives for 1 player. Same goes for LOB. If we are smart we can bring in similar players but a further upgrade. I see Darling going to Wrexham or Birmingham and LOB to Leicester maybe. For me I'm more than happy to shed off those who want more. Interesting article today on Swansea Independent. Like them or not they made a good point with Cullen. Personaly he won't go as he just re-signed with us, but Yates, TJoe, Cullen, Fulton, Christie, and Co can all go

Will be gutted if he goes, especially if for nothing in return. Never great losing one of your top goal scorers…

And he’s got something going with Cabango too. Both have come on leaps. And I think both bring out the best of each other.

Both look like different players under Sheehan, but Darling has his worth to us, if he feels his worth is more than we are prepared to pay then he can take himself away. All this smacks of another Alfi Mawson scenario, and look how that one worked out for him...
