This is surely up there with the greatest matches in long game format. Edgebaston 2005 was a corker, Headingley 1981 was another that gets pulled from the archives time after time, but this surely matches them.

At tea the pessimist in me couldn't see anything other than a late day five collapse. I then didn't catch up with goings on until it was all over, at which point I let out a "f*** me".

STILL the greatest form of cricket that's out there.

Magnificent, truly fantastic! Bairstow was bouncing there!!!
I'm sure the tickets were free for today, what a great day!!!
Looks like all the T20 has helped the Test game with stronger hitting, they are clearing the boundary ropes now with ease.

Bairstow’s innings today was right up there with Stokes’s at Leeds a few years back.

Remember Paul Collingwood went range hitting at a golf club?
Well the next innings he had he welted everything like what Bairstow did today
Phenomenal advancements in training and techniques.

Bairstow was fearless, what an innings, pity he didn't break the record cause he deserved to, brilliant innings, as was Stokes.

I think Bairstow has been hitting the weights hard as well. He's a solid lad.

I know that Max, I was thinking he looks even fitter and stronger. He's got a strong neck.
His veins were bulging!

Most boundaries in a match in Test match history.

226 X 4

24 X 6

Six after six went over square leg yesterday afternoon. Ferocious batting.
