It’ll be too late, as the Cardiff deal will be done, plus Y11 would not suddenly change horses to pursue a tender they can’t really win if they, for any reason, dropped out of the Cardiff deal. The Ospreys owners simply want out of the Ospreys. And if that’s not enough, the amateur clubs calling the AGM couldn’t give a fig about the professional game, they just want their gravy enhanced, and re-establish their control to get more gravy. Even if they could pass a vote to oust the chairman - highly unlikely given the numbers needed - they would want their own Dai Blazer to take his place! They cannot oust any other executive, so Downturn Abi, and Lord Bald’s Butler, and the Board that unanimously voted to accept Y11’s bid for Cardiff would remain.I agree with much of what you’ve said, I think the only hope the Ospreys have is if the EGM comes about and there are wholesale changes at the top of the WRU.
Barring an absolute miracle, it looks all stitched up, whatever. The best hope is the WRU over-reach and everything collapses, but that looks unlikely as their refinancing (on the basis of cutting to 3) looks to have already gone through. It’s a shitshow for the Ospreys and pro rugby in Swansea. That’s not to say people should stop fighting; hope springs eternal and all that.
