Another embarrassing result, but thought there were some positives. Scrum and line out went well (although lineouts weren’t contested at all). Eddie James played well as did Wainwright. Williams winds me up at scrum half - but he is the best we have. France won at canter though as expected.
The size on their 5 back rowers that came showed the massive gap in the physical attributes of both sides, not only that most are quick as well, difficult to keep the ball away from them.
Plumtree turned my words back on me and I thought he did well when he was on, he's a big lad as well hope he continues with his discipline after today,

it is sad I know but I began my silent, personal protest against the WrU - didnt even turn the game on.
If they dont think we deserve first class rugby in this area then they dont get the support.

Come on, they were playing the best team in the world. Of course they were going to get hammered, but they put up a better fight than the last match.
I don't know mind.. the French had the ball in their own 22 and it looked like they'd score a try in every play.. turned it off on 55 minutes

The defensive lines would have shamed Clwyd Primary.

The only tactic was to kick, kick, kick, to France's attacking players in space, and then not to bother defending across the pitch.. After they scored five tries from those kicks, Wales kept doing it. It was pathetic. Tandy and Sherratt personified. Nice guys; utter shit coaches with a track record of relentless shit. If we'd paid for decent coaches of young players, who could organise basics, we'd still lose, but by 15-20 or so and start to build. Not walloped by 50 match after match. As it is, this is more likely to continue. They need to beat Italy (or Jock or Micker) or it could be terminal. I think it's Springbock away in that new tournament next after that...good luck with ticket sales in the autumn after that if we're on 2 spawny marginal wins against Japan in around 30 matches.

It's bleak.

Tandy is supposed to be a respected defence coach. 302 points conceded in 6 games with him in charge suggests he’s overrated to put it mildly.
Gatland got no end of stick in his second term and, whilst clearly past his best, we weren’t this bad.

Do you watch The Ospreys regularly then Jase?
That is a good question Darran. I have had the discussion with my rugby loving neighbours about the formerly impending move to St Helen's and whether I would get a season ticket. I enjoy both sports and certainly football more but have found a deeper enjoyment of rugby over the last couple of years. My long working hours which include working many weekends play a big part in watching the Swans and the Ospreys were down on the list. I'm mulling over early retirement and that free's up my recreational time and I will certainly watch them if A. they exist and B. play at St Helen's.
Thank you for asking
