A question for DYSS

If i may...

England have always been the fly on the arshole of Europe's best international teams.

Flat track bullies against weaker opposition, but always fall short whenever they face the likes of Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium ect when it really matters.

Still dinning out thanks to a bent Russian linesman 50 odd years ago...

Hope this helps 👍

Probably for the same reason that China and India aren’t winning every World Cup.

Football isn't the biggest sport in these countries. Genetics has a part to play as well.

The Chinese are probably wondering why the usa and Russia are crap at table tennis and India asking same question regarding cricket.

If population means nothing. Why is Brazil, the largest of the footballing nations by some margin so dominant in the World Cup? Why are Germany and Italy the most successful of the Western European countries? Do you think their population is a factor? England have under achieved most certainly and should be giving Italy and France a better run for their money.

Oh but China and India are bigger and haven't done as well as England, grow the fack up!

Here's a list of European teams that have won the World Cup...

Germany (4 times)
Italy (4 times)
France (2 times)
England (1 time)
Spain (1 time) - and very recent (2010) considering their footballing pedigree.

A good handful of 'football countries' haven't won.

I enjoy England having a stinker of a competition as much as anyone, but they must piss themselves when they hear Welsh fans taking the mick out of their World Cup/European Cup history, with our two qualifications (once for the World Cup)...and one for the 2020 Euros which hasn't taken place yet.

England have qualified for the World Cup 15 times and the Euros 9 times.
Scotland have qualified for the World Cup 8 times and the Euros 2 times.
Ireland have qualified for the World Cup 3 times and the Euros 3 times.
Northern Ireland have qualified for the World Cup 3 times and once for the Euros.

Even Northern Ireland trump us for competitions qualified for! It's great that we're having a resurgence, especially with Bale, but let's put it in perspective, eh?

(Rugby is our national sport, anyway. :D *runs for door* )

But isn't it more about England (the team, manager, fans and media) thinking that they are the best and are going to win every competition they enter, only to be disappointed 23 times out of 24 (so far !) :D

Last night's game showed that they are over reliant on their "top" players to win them games when they don't dominate; they don't seem to have an overall strategy or a consistent game plan and end up lobbing long balls forward for the likes of Kane and Sterling to challenge on a 50/50 basis. Pretty poor for a nation that probably has more money flowing around the game than any other ... long may it reign

Why are England so crap at football? Population of 67 million vs Denmark 6 million and Iceland 380,000 FFS. They still struggle.

I'm sure that Richard will be along shortly to answer you.

A lot to do with arrogance - still think they have an Empire and all will bow down before them.

England or dyssie ?

He reminds me of the 19 year old from Bridgend who appeared on millionaire this week. He thought he was showing everyone how clever he was, knowing the surname of the pope, but struggled to know what a trawler was.
