A lot to do with arrogance - still think they have an Empire and all will bow down before them.

Pretty sure we were part of that empire?

Here's a list of European teams that have won the World Cup...

Germany (4 times)
Italy (4 times)
France (2 times)
England (1 time)
Spain (1 time) - and very recent (2010) considering their footballing pedigree.

A good handful of 'football countries' haven't won.

I enjoy England having a stinker of a competition as much as anyone, but they must piss themselves when they hear Welsh fans taking the mick out of their World Cup/European Cup history, with our two qualifications (once for the World Cup)...and one for the 2020 Euros which hasn't taken place yet.

England have qualified for the World Cup 15 times and the Euros 9 times.
Scotland have qualified for the World Cup 8 times and the Euros 2 times.
Ireland have qualified for the World Cup 3 times and the Euros 3 times.
Northern Ireland have qualified for the World Cup 3 times and once for the Euros.

Even Northern Ireland trump us for competitions qualified for! It's great that we're having a resurgence, especially with Bale, but let's put it in perspective, eh?

(Rugby is our national sport, anyway. :D *runs for door* )

Have you omitted the fact that we were 'Euro 2016' Semi finalists
