I'm currently at a friend's house, a few hundred yards from a Sunday league game. We've all heard similar at these sorts of open space games.. loads of shouting by players and coaches.

It's easily heard there.. but as I sit way up the East Stand, I can never hear similar at the Liberty.

Obviously the size and noise of the crowd is a factor..but is this a Sunday league thing - or does similar happen all the time on the stadium pitch ?

Just curious is all 😊

I sit right next to the dugout and you can’t hear much, you can hear the occasional F bomb off Sheehan though.
Strangley we commented yesterday when Sheehan was shouting instructions to some of the players, said player will put his thumb up but I always think the player hasn’t heard a bloody word Sheehan has said.

That was picked up on the microphone. He said “Jay pass the feckin thing forward”

I remember being shocked aged 11 by Geoff Thomas taking a throw in shouting 'who wants the fucking ball'. Answer was no one. Things don't change.

Many will remember the New Years game in 2000 away to Peterborough United where we were 2-0 down and came back to win 3-2,at London Road at that time like many other away grounds disabled away fans were in with the home fans,John Hollins could see that Amy was in their section and came over, lifted her over the barrier and walked her down the touch line and sat her in our dug out with our subs,it was an amazing game and he brought her back to us at the end,the first thing he said was “before we mention the game allow me to apologise for Barry Fry’s obscene language.”
Amy absolutely loved it. 🤣
