Aberavon seafront parking charge

Just read on the tinterweb that you now have to pay to park on the seafront in Aberavon. We were there about 10 days ago and were completely unaware that this was happening.

Yeah all the bays on the road (including the ones by Francos and Remos) are now max 2 hour and chargeable, think it's £1 per hour. Only payable by app or by calling a phone number. Not the best tbh and roll out has been badly arranged (even the signs don't make a lot of sense and are being updated), lots of people unhappy locally and parking in side streets etc instead.

Not the best I would agree, not exactly the best timing either what with the cost of living and what's happening over at Tata.
Honestly mate, you couldnt make it up.
Oh and the Clowncils excuse for the charges is to help with maintenance, what maintenance have they been out of the office lately and see the fookin state of the roads, my days.

It's shocking tbh. The council tax has gone up by 7% in the area, and it's really small minded to think they can plug their budget gaps by charging people to park down the beach. The money they will collect from it isnt worth the hassle (or the cost in doing it) tbh. There are petitions and all sorts! Classic council idiots

You'd be surprised how much revenue is raised by fining folk 35 quid a pop for non compliance. I'm gobsmacked tbh, cheeky fvckers.

Yeah fair point - that will be the focus instead of the £1&2 charges. With the confusing signs thrown into the mix they'll probably do well

We were there 2 weeks ago and I knew nothing about it. Fingers crossed.

I've just over 2,1/2yrs before I retire, god knows what'll happen by then with Starmer and Reeves fucking the country up, just hope Labour in Wales get out voted in May.
