Equally how many times have you heard fans criticise the likes of Cullen, Key, Ronald, Cabango - all pre the new recruitment team. Yet the personnel responsible for signing those players never get mentioned?

I dont do personalities. Unless they royally cock up. My interest for now is for those on the pitch, the coach and his team and desperately wanting positivity in the stands.
Basically what I was trying to highlight in my last my sentence that you have replied to.

I think our only hope is what can be achieved by the coach and what he can get out of the players who previously have failed to deliver especially on a consistent level. We need what happens on the pitch to kickstart the positivity, league position and performances have been very disappointing as a whole this season.

Agreed they have been disappointing. I was as worried as the next man but I can also see a change happening. Not sure we will get anything today if I am truthful. Also surprised at the team sheet but we shall see.

There are signs, if that is players now playing with a bit of freedom or new manager bounce then only time will tell.

I am not expecting much today but hope is there as always.

You want to see an outcome of success/regular and consistent performances rather than talking about potential and what could happen in time?
I think this far, when you consider that after all the signings that only Galbraith is being talked as a solid success gives a bit of hindsight of where we are......and that's not really a foundation to be talking people up and/or praising them to levels that we are reading.

I think discussions would be very different if it were someone with no history or familiarity with many of us on a personal level and I believe that would be different in both ways. It's all rather strange and that includes from both sides of the sand.

Basically, I'd prefer a robust track record of success rather than vibes to base lucrative promotions within the club on.

Seems a rational plan? And ironically, a data lead ethos.....

I would be of the same feeling and it's just seems that they are trying to hard to justify something with no real success to back it up.
It seems a plan that they are backing and sticking with, hopefully it comes to fruition but it seems a bit strange to go so all in and praise/reward with very little to back it up(at this stage).

Interesting that Hellberg was his man as well. There were a lot of assumptions on here that he was a Montague pick

Who said Hellberg was his man?
The planetswans article

"He is also understood to have been the key driver in identifying both Vitor Matos and Kim Hellberg, showing that his influence extends far beyond just playing staff."
