I couldn't agree more on this. It started before a ball was kicked, and while you could perhaps forgive that as close season optimism, I don't understand how some are still doing it given the way this season has transpired.

While we can all have slightly varying opinions on certain individuals, as a team we currently sit 20th in the table only 4 points off the drop zone. That tells you that hardly anyone in our squad has shone, or if they have it has been fitful at best. Anyone trying to upsell that state of affairs to the fans is at best insulting, and borderline gaslighting.

When I started watching us I didn't give a toss about league position or points. I just wanted us to win the game, right here, right now, and had no idea where the opposition or we were in the table. I was always blindly optimistic that we would win too, and if we lost, well, we'll win next time. Great days for me, if not the club in terms of money, glory, or 'player trading'.

Me too, from semi finalists to 4th division and re election,
seen it all before and heard all the bull crap, its nothing new, just re dressed .

Don't conflate realistic assessment of a disappointing season with a lack of support. Even if we're relegated I'll still be there every game spending my money on this club.

It is very surprising how content people seem to be. A lot more needs to come from these new players for summer business to be considered a success. If we sold them all now, we'd be well down on our outlay.

I can only think that it's the fact that so far, Matos has had us looking more enterprising as an attacking threat. We do at least look like we might score in every game, which wasn't happening under Sheehan.

I'm still wary of the bounce wearing off though, because for me it ultimately comes down to these players, and we have been here before with too many of them. Some of them are very, very flaky. If Matos puts the wrong brand of tomato ketchup on the table in the canteen tomorrow they could decide to down tools, because that's how some of them are, unfortunately.

While I can see positives in the manager & some of the players brought in over the summer I do find some of the comments odd.
Thinking that Idah & Inoussa so far haven't been good signings has nothing to do with who signed them & it's not because I'm not supporting the team - that's plain wrong.
Given the money we've spent on those 2 I'd say they've been misses. It doesn't mean I'm writing them off but so far they haven't contributed anywhere near enough & I have to say that I'm concerned.

We had fans criticising and questioning things when we were on a constant upward trend under Jackett/Martinez/Sousa/Rodgers, so not sure why people think there wouldn't be criticism now, when we've been in a relegation battle at some stage in multiple seasons.

I'm historically a 'happy clapper', but the relentless refusal of some to even acknowledge things could be better is becoming pretty grating, not to mention wilfully obtuse.

Though I do agree with Lisa, relegation would mean values become void. I’ll keep on beating same drum the Sheehan decision is what has cost us though and we’ll climb up table in no time. Fingers crossed that starts tonight.

It's strange. You need to be realistic of the situation and to say are you not watching as a reply makes no sense! Especially when you cast your eyes on the league table.
Unfortunately it seems that criticism is taking as a personal thing rather than taking it as constructive.

We all want things to improve, we can clearly see that things are getting better on the pitch but we can't just take things for granted and not highlight the situation we are in and what has possibly contributed to it.

It's going to take a bit of a swing tonight in a certain direction tonight given who we are playing. It's going to be either a swing in joy or a swing to "holy shit, we are only 1 point off the drop zone"
Fingers crossed that we buck our recent trend away from home and bring something back home with us down the M4.

Since this new lot took over and Coleman has left I feel a sense of positivity.
It feels like they really want to succeed.
They are probably making mistakes along the way and as Lisa suggested in another thread, may need a good DOF.
As long as they can learn from the mistakes and keep stepping forward, then I am happy clapping.

If we keep repeating them then I will start to complain. Of course, I am concerned at our position but I think/hope I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

They have been a breath of fresh air and their intentions are good.
They just seem to be a little wet behind the ears with a few things and the need for a DOF is clear for me.
I think they have just been badly advised with a few things.
