Ads on here

Have become a lot more intrusive over the last week or so (mobile, Android, Chrome browser)

Large 'scroll to continue reading' ads planted in the middle of threads that take up most of the screen. Not on every page mind you, seems 1 in every 5 or so pages generate them

Anyone else?

I’ve had the horrible big ‘pop-up banner that you have to scroll down half a screen to read the first thread’ come back with a vengeance after Phil got rid of it in the summer. It came back about 2 or 3 months ago but didn’t want to bother Phil with it again. It does make the forum a right pain to view to be honest.

I noticed that when I was looking on my phone last night, 99% of the time i'm on my PC and see none. Do none of the android ad blockers work?

I used to have https://blokada.org on my phone to block ads on twitch, try that

Yeah PC viewing seems fine. I do most of my viewing on safari (Ipad).

Adguard works well for me on Android

No settings have been changed so it will be the ad agency serving them

For Mr Swerve is it that big thick banner that you were getting before at the top?

There should only ever be one maximum in the middle of a thread with all the rest at the bottom which makes them non intrusive (unless you want to read every word on every page ;-) )

The regular banner in the middle of the threads isn't much of a problem, it's the really tall one that takes ages to scroll past that gets annoying

The website has to pay for itself some way or another so I try to avoid ad blockers

I'm still getting the aforementioned 'scroll to continue' ads (although less regularly, I think) but now I'm also getting a pop up ad that sticks to the bottom of the screen as you scroll. It has a cross to close it down, but a refresh of the page and it reappears

I don't want to install an ad-blocker but i'll have no choice if this is a permanent fixture

I just cannot replicate the scroll to continue one at all - next time you see it can you screen grab it and PM it to me

BTW, the 'sticky' ad mentioned yesterday just made a return too

I wont quote it as it will take up all the space but thats useful and sent to the ad agency to see if they can shed light as never seen anything like that at all (anyone else seen anything similar?)

The sticky will appear if you are not logged in from time to time but if you are logged in you shouldn't see it
