This season this site has inundated with poorly written and fact checked articles of AI slop. I’ve largely ignored them because they’re at best a minor annoyance. But this article has made me want to call it out: https://jackarmy.net/2025/11/02/swa...heehan-faces-growing-pressure-over-poor-form/

It’s fair enough to have criticisms of the season so far, I’m just as disappointed with the games. I will say I don’t think it’s time to start ringing alarm bells just yet.

But if you’re going to put out an article criticising the players and manager, who are working hard week in week out to improve. At least stop using chat GPT to write it for you. If you can’t be arsed to write it yourself don’t bother putting it out at all.

Alternative view is not to read them. One man's junk is another man's treasure and all that.

Like I said I do largely ignore it. But I will rightly call out negative articles that haven’t even been written by a human. It’s a fair criticism.
It's an opinion piece which drives traffic to the website. There's a lot in the article which is pretty valid with what is being displayed on the pitch.

I'm all for giving Sheehan the time he needs, it's hard to argue that performances have been very disjointed this season.

A lot of people are using AI to check facts and despite errors being pointed out they will still use them the next time they want to check facts. Maybe this is the wrong part of the site to discuss this but I do worry about how this will become more widespread going forward.

Like it or not, it's reality of where things are and going. I use it everyday for work and emails and has made me lazy. It's quick and gets to the point. I understand all sides and though I would prefer a article not to be written with ChatGPT it's the way it is now. Do I feel slight disconnect, yes, but it's life.

I know how this was written and it wasn’t written by chat Gpt of any equivalent

It was written by giving the views of the author in a format that it was asked to make it consistent in tone with other articles on the site

Same as every single article is , as has been said if you don’t like it, don’t read it but please don’t diss people’s efforts in this way given they spend a reasonable amount of time formulating it.
AI for this purpose is a fact of life and being used more and more

However I am fairly certain if you didn’t have a human view on the middle of it, it would be full of errors but I saw the raw version of the article before it ended up in the “machine”

Embrace it , it’s 2025 🤣

So do you think it was written without any human intervention ? That’s just jon

Chat GPT will equally provide an in depth analysis of how Sheehan is doing a decent job, with a pragmatic and longer term plan, maybe designed to get safe in the league first with a lot of new players ( and in some cases average and not his pick) - then take the brakes off with a decent amount of games left for a strong play off push.

Chat GPT is like two opposing barristers in court giving very plausible arguments for and against.

But still, I agree with Flash ..I much prefer the human input.

Smurph is also right ..you don't have to read the article.

Though here's a thought...get Chat GPT to produce two articles at the same time

1. Why Sheehan is facing growing pressure over poor form

2. Why Sheehan will overcome poor form and fans should stick with him

I'm still underwhelmed with the new squad though. 😊. Chat GPT convince me otherwise ! 😂..or preferably an incisive objective fan 👍🤞

The website has often been open to opposing views so if someone wants to do just that we will
Publish it - I seem to remember we did it the last time there was an article on Sheehan a few weeks back

As I said these articles are not written by AI by any stretch, they have to have a viewpoint written
Into it or AI will formulate whatever it chooses

This being a classic example that I just knocked up

Using these tools to generate consistency of tone and format is now pretty standard but the thoughts behind it will always be of the fans otherwise we will seemingly be Doncaster fans 🤣

When reading the content it's quite clear that it wasn't created by chatGPT as there is too much opinion based content in there for it to be wholly AI made.

It looks like it's been cleaned up by ChatGPT, which personally i think is a good use of the technology.

I also have no issue with criticising the player or manager as that's part and parcel of being a fan site.

Precisely this and I agree. I use AI on a daily basis in work (not yet got there on using it for emails) for consistency of tone and set up. But if I let it do it all by itself then it would be populated with mistakes and issues - we are way away from a stage (IMO) where AI can replace people but if they can create consistency in tone, brand and structure on anything then we use it.

For the article itself there is much I agree with in there although for me I am totally ambivalent on the whether we sack him or not position largely because I think if we do we will end up with just another iteration of the same - this guy is Russell Martin Mk III so next can surely only be Mk IV

I have no idea what the specific AI usage is for this article, but it should be pointed out that AI can easily be used to create highly opinionated content. You can ask it to adopt a particular persona and it will run with it, for example ‘adopt the persona of a highly opinionated fan of x football team’, and add a few other traits that persona should have (flamboyant writing style, a strong bias towards entertaining football etc.) and you’re good to go.

I say this not to have a go, I just think having AI adopt personas is cool…it can also help you cut out errors and omissions - you can tell it to be someone who is assiduous in their fact checking and won’t write anything without 4-5 cross referenced facts from certain sources etc.

It’s much more interesting than just using it as google+ or spellcheck+

It still thinks he is managing Doncaster 😂

Look I know some work has gone in to it by someone. But articles by different authors shouldn’t have the same tone. It just screams low effort, soulless, corporate garbage to me. People read these for the honest views of the author, warts and all. I would prefer seeing the raw version of the article. If you’ve got an opinion show some respect to the club and the readers to put the time and effort into writing it in your own words.
