Surely we can find someone more mobile than Moore, but we do have a history of playing with less mobile players up top.. Trundle, Akinfenwa, Scotland, Bony, Beattie, Kuqi, Pintado, Graham, Llroente, Gomis, Piroe.. shame we can't find a Luke Moore type, perfect for counter attacks
Moore was very mobile for his size, but he is getting on a bit. But there will be players out there who can win aerial battles and hold the ball up. Who knows, perhaps Sheehan may yet make a success of Kuka...

Sheehan said similar comments when asked if he’d take the position until the end of the season, I think he wants assurances he’ll be backed and given time and also I think he’ll be pretty open in telling Montague he isn’t going to be a heavily reliant possession based manager, which at the minute is working wonders, I’d much rather have a manager who’s setting up against teams to exploit their weaknesses rather than massaging his ego for a game of who has the highest stats at all cost.
Agree it might not always be pretty for 90 minutes. But I'll take this style over Martin and Williams style. To be fair from hearing Sheehan comments post matches, especially today, he does want more style and wanted to see less of us taking our time with throw in etc. Be interesting to see if he gets it, how we evolve.

Just saying... Not that he has pedigree or has shown anything, but an unproven striker we will proberly sell. Could he do this maybe?

Montague arrived a couple of months ago and Coleman was basically using Football Manager through January along with someone who shouldn't be mentioned who was scouting on Fifa full time. This has not been a club that has been planning long term for targets.

Which is why the club hired Michael Duff less than two years ago.

Whilst i wouldn't advocate for Kieffer Moore coming here I don't really see much evidence to suggest that Sheehan will be looking for 7 foot target men in order to make his football more successful anyway?

This all feels like a cross roads. I'm fearful that if we get it wrong and look elsewhere that we'll be back in this never ending circle of sideways passing. And for that reason alone I'm happy to roll the dice on somebody who has PROVEN to deliver 34 points in 18 games in two spells as manager of this club. Without the opportunity to select his own players.

Put a curly moustache on the fella, grow his hair and call him Alain Shezhan from Marseille and people would be all over it.
You’re starting to sound like Big Sam, Rob.

You’re far better than that.

Shed the blinkers, widen your perspectives, imagine the art of the possible ……with no limiting factors / glass ceilings…….

Some folk are easily caught up in their current paradigm.

Let's not play silly buggers now.

Certain characters on here including yourself move from one direction to another in the blink of an eye. As soon as the lustre of a manager from Scandinavia appears on the horizon it's time to discredit the current guy in charge because he hasn't got the attraction of being born on the continent.

Maybe ask Norwich fans, with their next level spend and MVP's, how their European manager with top pedigree is getting on before dismissing "Sheez" as some Big Sam wannabe.

Oh and grow up. The motives are very evident.

Some telling words in Sheehan's post match interview - when asked about being the manager ...

"Let’s see what happens. It’s not a given. We’ll see."

“If they want me to be the guy, we’ll have a conversation. It’s not a definite yes, it’s not a definite no. We need to be aligned as a football club."

“Looking forward, what are the expectations? Obviously we’re on an incredible run – five wins in a row in the Championship is very good – but ultimately I can’t really answer that."

“I’ll have a conversation with the ownership at the end of the season and see where we’re at. It’s got to be aligned; what I want, what they want, to move this club forward.”

Sheehan holds all the aces at the moment particularly if we keep winning, he can almost insist on certain criteria being met before he accepts any job now he has established his credentials with a successful probationary period.

I think if he doesn’t get what he wants he wont accept the offer anyway, his agent will have been out there selling him to other championship clubs, most with bigger pockets than us.

The flip side of that is how many teams will want to take another side's caretaker? That's a pretty hard sell to their fans "here's this guy who was only good enough to be filling in at another club, he's the man to lead us to glory".

I'm being a bit facetious there, but you get my point. I don't think Sheehan has that many options on the table. I'd wager if the club want him, it'll get done, and pretty quickly.

Think deep down Sheehan would jump at the chance of getting the managers role with us. He has already put his stamp on the team so could see him wanting to build on it.

I think he is a pretty good poker player and sounded like he knew he could show his ability if given a chance, rather than sounding desperate like he did initially for the post he now sounds very confident.

Now the results on two separate occasions are there for all to see, other clubs and now our players have looked to him as “just Sheezy” a fill in or stop gap but they all seem to have bought into him and a re very keen on him staying.

Is the apparent change of mind from Darling and the potential retention of O’Brien a sign of this?

I wonder if the board are thinking with Modric onboard and any potential influence he could have in his network of potential loan players would the Swede be in a better position to integrate them into our squad than Sheehan.

No doubt at the moment Sheehan has the dressing room but with changes in personal coming this summer are board thinking ahead more than the current situation.
I am not quite sure why the Swede should be any better at integrating new players?

Or other teams will see we've been on a good run & will wonder why he isn't the manager (at the fault of the club). Some will see it as a steal.

I think the old phrase "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" rings very true at the moment. I get the impression that the feeling amongst the players, fanbase and presumably the club in general, is probably the best it's been for the best part of a decade and tinkering with that by stepping into the unknown is surely a massive and seemingly unnecessary risk as we all know how quickly things can unravel.
