Alan Sheehan on Birmingham City | Reaction

Its takes all flavours. Personally I see a team that can be exciting and has shown signs. Others see it as boring. I'm not advocating we win at all costs, but same time, the so called Swansea Way has in the many years held us down. If it'd managers, fans or owners. We have evolved from this. I do believe we have the most strongest team since relegation and I'm excited about where we are going. But some are impatient I suppose.
I see a team and a manager at the very beginning of their journey together.

If they'd been together for a season or two, then yeah I'd be a little concerned. The fact of the matter is we haven't and none of us should be concerned.

We need to get rid of Franco, I will keep banging this drum. He's contributing next to nothing for our attack.

Speaking to a few fans in work today, the doubts are creeping into the Sheehan appointment, we all agree that the performances have been iffy for the first six league games and I don't think the performances are suddenly going to swing in a positive direction. Even Pep today tried the Sheehan tactics and backfired.

If I was the opposing manger, I would attack our full backs all game and raise the tempo second half and go at us. We can't play 90 minutes at the moment.
Literally stop it now, this is getting tiresome.

Totally Agree!!! Sheehan has even admitted multiple times we are kmowhere near were we need to be. Maybe I'm biase? But maybe I like many others have seen shit managers come and go season upon season with us since relegation and I'm just happy we have someone who doesn't throw players under the bus, is honest, and has passion and drive to learn and build the team. Maybe that's why? Maybe that's wrong? We all know the flaws in the team or what we should and should not be doing but in January the club across the board was on self destruct mode. Williams, behind the scenes, fans wanting blood and relegation battle. Now we have best team in years and building. Fans will never be happy.

I'd say you're more pragmatic.

Football fans tend to have short memories. The way we finished last season gives us a glimpse of what Sheehan is capable of.

I am. And I'll say it now. This is not a comment to stir shit. But as a Indy Fan, it's annoyed me that they written off VP for the whole season and to be fair, many did - but have not once said they was wrong nor admitted his up turn in form and giving praise. Yes VP form could drop again. But my point is they did an article today about how O Dea is also at fault with results and late goals. Yes he is, but why do an article last week having a pop at Sheehan then doing one about O Dea the week after. Next week it will be the kitman fault. Yes, they speak the truth but a bit of perspective is even lost on those with exceptional knowledge and far more history with Swansea than me. People need to remember what has happened since January. Let's maybe not all sharpen our knives so often.

I’m reasonably happy with where we are and how we’re progressing. This is Sheehan’s first major role as manager, and he’s navigating a squad full of new faces still bedding in. It’s a world away from Martinball or Willyball — we’re building something fresh, and that takes time.
Yes, Sheehan will make mistakes. That’s part of the learning curve. But there’s a clear intent, and yesterday’s disallowed goal was perfectly legitimate. Add in the fatigue from the Forest game and a ridiculously early kick-off — thanks, Sky — and it’s no surprise the lads looked a bit flat.
We’re moving forward. I’d be more than happy with a solid top ten finish this season. That’s progress. That’s foundation. Let’s back the team, back the manager, and keep some perspective.
Whilst we fans maybe happy with a top 10 finish what do the owners expect given their investment in Widdell and this summers window?
I am comcerned about Sheehan....he is a nice guy and unlike the fraud appears to have no ego.
But for me his decision making in the last 3 league games have me asking more questions....his subs and the timing of them have left me perplexed.
Agsinst Warford it was obvious we lacked some physicality Yalcouye and Cullen needed to be subbed half time....yet they came back out and once Stamenic and Vip replaced them we looked different gravy but they were brought on later then required.
His subs v Hull and yesterday not right alongside the tactics of defending a lead and them a draw cost us . Why 2 leahie games on the trot have we conceded a late goal comimg from an attack.down our left wwith a ball into the box?
Yesterday was his 27th competetive game as head coach for us ...including his two caretaker stints.
Im not sure the owners will settle for what some of our fans would.
For me I hope Sheehan learns from his mistakes .....we as a club cannot afford losing another manager....3 i n 3 years wouldnt loom good

I actually agree with what you have said. No arguments from me, other than I'm willing to give Sheehan a lot more time before start thinking about his position. He has done some questionable subs, 100%. Maybe I'm too leniant? It's results business. But for me personally at this time of writing I can look past current issues as I see what he potentially could bring to the team and club. But that is down to Sheehan. If he doesn't learn from this and has a ego that won't change then like every manager he won't last if the club wants to grow. But my panic button is put away at moment.

Middlesbrough had a lot of incomings this season, and they had a new manager to get acclimatised to , but they seem to have started fine looking at the table. Stop making excuses for some bang average performances so far .
Excuses?... No. Just reality.

Quit whining!
