Anyone hear him after the hiding from Leeds, saying football should be called off due to Covid?

He said the players would be fine but said he was worried for his himself if he caught it due to his age. Makes me wonder why he took the job of he’s that worried about it but just interested if anyone else agrees with him that the season should be called off again this year, same as last season, and not due to concerns over players or fans but because Sam Allardyce feels that at 66 he’s more vulnerable?

Break or no break?

Happy New Year. x

Or maybe he thinks that taking his players out of the firing line for a fortnight and giving himself a chance to work with them unencumbered by games may enhance their chances of survival? Like you said, if he was that concerned about the health risks he wouldn't have taken the job. He can't need the money at this point in his career.

For me the games should go on. Footballers are frequently tested, well protected and the risks to them are miniscule.

You may think that........ I wonder what he’d say if they were top six and flying, or if they’d just hammered Leeds 5-0 away?

Maybe Sam Allardyce should work from home.

Strange that managers of clubs doing well at the moment are against a Covid break and the ones doing badly want a Covid break innit.

Can't see how a break is going to help. In fact, I suspect it would make things worse. What do you imagine football players are going to do with a fortnight off?

If players/staff at football clubs are catching Covid then they need to have a long hard look at themselves and their behaviour.

Anyone can catch COVID.

The FA Cup will be an interesting one next week.

The testing in the lower leagues is by all means, pitiful, and there will probably be a huge surge of cancelled games in the weeks after.

Obviously, but they shouldn't be catching it at their clubs, so they need to be extra careful elsewhere. Not having birthday parties, etc. The rules apply to footballers too.

Don’t be so silly, it’s everywhere. Take precautions, follow the rules, cross your fingers.

I know mate. I do. Problem is, footballers don't - there's been plenty of examples.

Or just retire to the dinosaur park.

The talk about a fortnight's break from games is just stupid. Unless of course those calling for it are saying that players won't train or be together as a group during that period. Which of course they arent

The managers are moaning because sometimes they are playing two games a week and the precious little angels cant handle it.

Is there still al place in top level management for the likes of Allardyce? He’s a relic, he might do okay but it’ll be only just okay. I can’t really understand what WBA were really hoping to achieve.
