Similarly the lack of a player or two up near the halfway line is always something that gripes me, by having everyone in the box you are inviting the other team to leave only one token player back and let everyone else be in and around the box. Admittedly the lack of any real pace in the side right now doesn't do that theory any favours but still why invite more players into the box when you don't have to?
Agree about leaving attackers up for corners but if you leave one and haven't got the pace to support him, leaves him isolated, if you have two and put them out wide on each wing to stretch the defence with no pace they are still isolated, so do you play the two closer together so they are not isolated?
Or do you get more pace in the team!
Young pacy players need to be nurtured to use their pace wisely as they sometimes think the pace is the only weapon they need, let's hope that happens whether out on loan, in the youth setup or with first team experience.
