It just goes to show that following the Swans has been a very varied and unusual set of memories for each of us. As bad as the football is at the moment I’ll still be there on Monday for the visit of Rotherham having my usual moan from the East Stand.
“Funny old game, football “ as Greavsie once said. 🙄

Surely has.

Strange how just a comment brings back so many memories.

Of games or not

Northampton at the County Ground, called off when I got there, walking away from the ground a car full of Swans stopped and asked if they were close to the ground. I said yes but had to say game off due to waterlogged pitch

York away

I think in the cup. Got to the outskirts of York then announced game off again waterlogged pitch. Went to the ground anyway, looked ok to me but was still raining heavily.

Travelled down to the Vetch for a Brentford game again called off due to a waterlogged pitch

I'm sure I've got a copy of Vetch Field Voices by Phil Sumbler & Keith Haynes somewhere, which had memory snippets from fans.

Plymouth away? Was that the 2-2 draw

We played I think Southend at home the week before. Driving back through Cardiff after the game, at traffic lights, and hit behind by a car. Drivable but in for repairs so couldn't drive to Plymouth and no train return before the end of the game.
Luckily the highlights were on match of the day.

Edit

I was at the Doncaster game as well. Makes you think how many people will have the same memories but most likely never met.

yeP 2-2 draw, I cant remember much as I was a bit piddled!! but remember the trip down on the train more than the game,
Doncaster I can remember nearly all of it, leaving Swansea midnight from the station, to getting home on the Abbey workers bus Sunday morning. with very little sleep!!! one of the highlights was all the buses parked up on a cold morning on a motorway and a line of men all having a wee at the side of the road!

Games added Aston Villa away 1971,
Autoglass
QPR in LC78

Ones to forget a few to port vale one including a 4-0 outclassed. and a police escort out.

If you are who I think you are, I can understand Sheffield Utd and midweek game in Carlisle because of the company.

Lost keys (for a while) at Port Vale😊
