Anyone cut the grass yet?

Do you use the 14/15% stuff - or the industrial shock restricted killer swimming pool stuff Coops? I ask as I've never had the courage for the latter but a builder told me that's what would make my 27 year old stones look like new. Not sure I'd ever have the guts. The 'milder' stuff made an old rugby shirt an 'interesting' colour with a little wind spray, s I'd be scared for the grass and shrubs in the vicinity.
Yes, the 15% usually does the job. I apply it with an old watering can rather than spraying it, for the reasons you state. Wellies, old clothes and rubber gloves are essential.

Get a hired hand in to do this sort of stuff? Its less hassle at our time of life 😎
My handyman arrives at 8.30 am tomorrow. I’ve done the lawns myself but haven’t got the time for hedges, tree cutting, fence painting, etc. It will be a few hundred quid well spent.

I enjoy doing it. There may come a time when I won’t be able to but u til then,,,
That’s very true. My old man is getting to an age where he cannot keep up with the garden, and I can sense his sadness about not being able to look after his pride and joy.

After reading that, I think I’ll cut mine this week, before it does start getting to knee height. It’s not too bad at the moment, considering it hasn’t had a cut this year yet, only a few inches high really, but I would imagine now the weather is getting warmer, next spot of rain, it will start to grow a lot faster.

I have to admit I'm still of an age where I should do the grass cutting and weeding ect, but would rather pay someone to do it. Basically, I'm not green fingered and the wife has bad knees. 😣

I saw the Countryfile weather and there’s no sign of rain for the foreseeable future. A dry week ahead.

Time is my issue. No physical limitations and I enjoy it once I’m out there doing it. Whatever our ability, let’s all hope for a proper summer.

Fair enough really I know plenty of people who do that. Everyone’s different and gardening is a thriving business so food luck go to ‘em. I had a man round to trim my bushes at the start of march. I enjoy mowing and strimming but anything that requires creativity, shaping or precision is out of my league.

Probably needs it's own thread, but got the old pressure washer out this morning, that's the patio done. Just a million other things to do now.😁👍
The wife has done ours and the paving stones going around our garden. She is doing the deiveway in the week.

I need a new patio but I’m not minded to spend the money it’ll cost so I’ll stick with the uneven current one. It does the job.

Decent patio slabs are ridiculous prices these days. I put decking down about twelve years ago and it’s got one, possibly two summers of life left in it. When it gives up the ghost the spend on slabs is inevitable.

The lady gardener won't do this apparently 😕
