• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

My dog is only 10kg but seems to expunge half his body weight out there daily despite two walks most days. Shit machine.
He’s like the canine equivalent of a website spewing out constant content but ultimately full of shit.

The wife has done ours and the paving stones going around our garden. She is doing the deiveway in the week.
Fair play, I assume you reciprocate by doing the hoovering and the ironing for your good lady. 😁👍

Been power washing the patios and paths, then repointing the stuff that had dried up using jointing material before putting sealer on, i am absolutely knackered been at it for a week!

I saw the Countryfile weather and there’s no sign of rain for the foreseeable future. A dry week ahead.
Yes, nice until the 14th according to BBC Weather, I’ll give it a go this week, in all honesty I do quite enjoy doing it, especially looking at it, when all done. I think the only part I don’t like about cutting the grass is sorting the strimmer line out, when it runs out or just snaps. Next strimmer I get, will definitely be looking at one that keeps on feeding the line, without pulling it apart, does my bloody head in.

Nothing more infuriating than spending five or so minutes, mucking around with the strimmer spool, then as soon as you start the line just starts unraveling. 🤬

Strimmer spool pain, I feel it.

Unfortunately, since last year work has been a little frenetic and I've had to cut out my help(hinderence) and the wife has shouldered the vast majority of it.

Don't you have a gardener dear boy?

Anyone got a reasonably quick way to get rid of industrial strength toxic black birdshot off the patio? Other than shooting all the little bastards. I don’t know what the gulls and pigeons have been eating, it looks like concrete rubber.

No, I'll do it myself. :)

All done now. Must admit, not entirely impressed with the finish, does look slightly clumpy, hmm it was a bit overdue.

But the good news, the strimmer line played ball, had to change and was fearing the worst, but nope, the line decided to stay in the spool. Some people have a fear of spiders, for me, it's extending the line on the strimmer, just before I was forced to change it, must have had about 3cms left on it. :ROFLMAO:, be brave I thought, extended it to the max.. The strimmer spool gods were shining on me.

Got pissed off with strimmers about 10-12 years ago so bought a big petrol thing with a blade like the ones you see guys doing roadside verges with and it's still going strong. Did my lawns for the first time this year about 4 weeks ago followed by a shorter cut a couple of weeks later but reading this thread has given me a bit of incentive so maybe do a bit before the Sunderland game and a bit more after as weather likely to change in the next day or two. ☺️

Several cuts and a few tonne bags of scarified moss later, and I think we’re going to get something which resembles grass.
