• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Anyone think that Duff…

Don't tell me that's another Dr P reincarnation as he reads very similar ??

Or just another know it all who actually knows zilch.

It's Andy Cole, perennial thicko and wum (in his own head)

There's actually hardly a soul here from the time CD was employed here under Brendan and no one in the decision making department.

Isn't one of the whole parts of a football forum that in instances like managerial change there will be lots of speculation over the appointment of a new manager? Lots of names will be linked but only ever one of them will be right.

There is no doubt we had an interest in Davies - neither party will ever publicly confirm how far that went, same for Schumacher and same for Muscat (who with Duff were the four names I heard interested us most)

Hell we probably had a romantic idea somewhere that Rodgers or even Potter could return. Probably even in the corridors of power but that doesnt mean either had a contract in front of them or even had the opportunity to say no.

The one I missed off that list was I wonder if there was ever any thought of Nathan Jones and how big that thought got

Lets be fair and honest here, if Nathan Jones didn't have that connection with Cardiff then he would have had a very good chance of being our manager.

Only one I can think on with any pull or say is Martin Morgan.
Anyone else?

Cooper had a Cardiff connection through his dad though? As much as he said he wasn’t a Cardiff fan.

That's it, Cooper has a connection but never been a self confessed fan who runs it in.......Jones is a fan and has been vocal about it plus and never hid the fact.

If Cooper was a Cardiff fan then he kept quiet and professional about it.

Oh I dunno, I think Nathan Jones could have been ruled out simply because he's a crap manager who got lucky at Luton because they were on an upwards trajectory when he landed in the hot seat, he managed to "lose" the Southampton dressing room after one game and four days by all accounts...

I certainly wouldn't argue with that but I certainly believe that if Watson was going into another club in the same circumstances then Jones would have had a very good chance of getting the gig.

How long will it take Russ the Bus, and his ‘don’t blame me’ process?

Fair, but if this is the case then Watson wouldn't sit right for me, Jones will end up a very rich man and build his own pad on top of Aberdare mountain with his proceeds from "professional football "...
Also, he will probably be fighting all comers in the Yr Ieuan Ap Iago for supporting the Jacks for many years, with a Stone Island badge on his skinny little rat of an arm

I've seen some of the pictures of the Spain tour, Mr Duff has them on the edge, literally, but it's stupid putting them through the meat grinder just to play football
