I’m not so sure…

In Manning, Naughton, Grimes, Downes, Ntcham, Pato and Piroe who fit this team nicely and would all be very very good players in this division…. It feels we need 4 or 5 more to compliment them.

If we can shift some players who didn’t fit and bring in a few in this window then I can really see us giving most teams a real game again this season.

The foundations are there for a brilliant, exciting team.

No but they are if your current expectations are as high as some.
One thing for sure though we should have more points on the board pushing us up the table.
As I’ve mentioned previously if your philosophy on football is to pass the ball around at the back in injury time whilst being 1-0 down away to Middlesbrough instead of getting the ball forward into the mixer to try and snatch something from the game that’s not a philosophy on football, that’s complete and utter bollox.

Mmm … Apart from the sloppy passes gifting other teams goals, just about every other goal conceded in the recent deluge that we have suffered have come down the left hand side, Manning’s side. Coincidentally (or not) it has been happening since Bidwell disappeared from the team sheet. I don’t see Manning as an automatic starter, he may be ok as a makeshift centre back when we play 3 at the back but he needs a decent left back to bail him out all too often & it hasn’t been happening since Bidwell disappeared

Foundations tend to crumble quickly for teams who have to sell their best players to survive
We are one of those teams now , staying in the championship is the priority

I agree but we need to spend wisely and not waste money on loans unles we have a option. I keep saying we need a core and pace.

its classic swans social media mm.

Our supposed 'fans' enjoy nothing more than moaning, whinging and telling the world how shit we are week after week. Its facking pathetic.

We played a fully fit premier league team yesterday (full strength) without kicking a ball for four weeks, covid rife in the squad and only 8 training last week.

we could and should have won the game.

and our cousins in the east are a hell of a lot worse than us... rumours that superstar moore is going to muff too - that would be funny.

Still waitint to see how good their youngsters are.. colwill is meant to be best thing since slied bread. Been shit today and every single time i've seen him

I dont think things are that bad, we have some decent players, but we do also need strengthening.
It will be interesting to see whether we stick with the 4 at the back we used vs Saints (I hope we do).
That would surely mean we have to go out and sign a winger, be nice to have someone who can beat a man in the side.

RWB and LWB desperately needed, both with pace.

Best hope imo would be the loan market for these at this stage, with finances etc.

Going forward it shows how bereft of creativity and scoring opportunities we look without Patterson. Although I concede our other creative force Ntcham was also not there from the start. In terms of creating chances, we were always going to become even more dependent on Patterson once Laird went out the door.

At the other end of the pitch, a lot has been quite rightly made of how poor Bennett was, and that's fair enough. However it must be said that you'd struggle to find a defender in the world that could have undone that shocking howler by Walsh for the first. Cooper did OK I thought, Cabango is to come back.

It depends on if we are sticking with the system from the weekend, if we are i think Naughton and Manning/Bidwell are are pretty good fullbacks. (Not attacking, but good).

If we are going to persist with the 5 we definitely need wingbacks in though.

Things are definitely looking up, we just signed a young lad from Briton Ferry Llansawel

Joe Thomas from Cambrian weren't it?

Other lad from Briton Ferry but played for Chippenham I thought.
