There were some of those in this country a few years ago. We had a European hornets' nest in our porch in the summer of 2016, big bastards they were, even the exterminator guy was a bit jittery when he came to sort them out, and he had all the protective gear on. Same year, we had two wasps' nests in our loft. When I phoned the guy up the 3rd time he said, Oh, not you again!!

On the contrary, I am extremely lucky. I would still choose to live where I do even if we had a wasps' nest every year. Actually, we did have one earlier this year but that's the first since 2016!
