Still good enough to consistently perform in the PL?

Good news for Wales at least.

Very good news for wales, he might be able to keep the ball more.

Be playing for Cardiff in the not too distant.

Probably, tho they'll find a way of not paying what's owed. It's how they roll.

Apart from THAT overhead kick in the Champions League Final it's as if he's been on hiatus since 2016. High time for him to kick on, time is ticking on a career where, despite numerous highs, you feel he could have achieved more. Despite all this he's always been there for Wales.

Not so sure Mourinho is the man to get the best out of him though.

The way his Madrid career is ending certainly gives you the feeling that he could have achieved more. Which, when you stop and think about it, is kind of weird.

He's got 2 La Liga winner's medals, 4 Champions League winner's medals, scored sensational goals in a CL final and a Copa del Rey final, plus is his country's record goalscorer and led them to their first finals appearance in over 50 years. If that's underachievement, we're setting the bar very high indeed.

His biggest crimes seem to be not being as good as Ronaldo (joining a group that includes everyone not named Messi) and suffering from injuries. His lack of affection for Real comes from the stick he's received for the first two issues, so I'm not including that.

Its a shame what happened between him and zidane, whatever it was

Think it was zidane when he was the second team manager who pushed for Madrid to buy bale in the first place

Not sure he will ever get back to his best but should still be good enough for most teams

Just searched for this article from last year which should be enough to counter anyone that says Bales under achieved: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49073162

He has beaten most records of Real's most iconic players in their most successful period. His name has been dragged through the mud which is a shame as big as his achievements.

I can't wait to see him back in the PL and I hope that his injuries are behind him so he can get back to his levels with Wales, too.

Bale already had problems at Madrid, but it was the beginning of the end when he was pictured last year behind the Welsh flag, bearing the words ... ‘Wales, Golf, Madrid. In That Order’

He knew it was over before that mate, hence why he did it. It was his way of sticking two fingers up at Real for the way they (and their mouthpieces in the media) were treating him, showing them he wasn't going to sit there quietly and take their shit. Same with the antics in the stands and in the celebrations after the restart.

I have no idea how he'll do at Spurs, but they will have a motivated player who'll want to make Madrid look stupid for binning him. It's whether his body will let him down or not.

Still happy to take 500k a week if he wasn’t Welsh we’d all be giving him stick.

Great player hope he gets back to his best for Wales.

He was also happy to play and earn that money (not that you can actually 'earn' such an obscene amount, but that's a different issue), but Zidane and Real decided not to play him.

Clubs are quick enough to bin players when it suits them, so I find it hard to criticise Bale for collecting the money that the club agreed to pay him.

Still holds the record in EPL for yellow cards for simulation 7, will have a chance to build on that! ;)

Agree. It was over when the Wales, Golf, Madrid quote appeared in the paper. Appearing behind the flag was Bale admitting the show was over at Real.

Seeing as he’s returning from Spain, will he have to quarantine for 14 days???
