• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Nice article this. A lot of us will remember his debut for the Swans. He stood out from day one. Well done Ben 👏

Not really one for sentiment in football and not many players who’ve returned (in recent years) have been a success, but I’d take him on a free next summer, in part for the off field stuff in the dressing room and the fact we’ve got very few ‘local/long term’ players atm.

I was devastated when Taylor broke his ankle, those feelings were soon replaced when Ben stepped up. Talk about seizing your opportunity.

I’d never heard fans boo someone that’s been seriously injured and carried off before those Sunderland fans did it to Neil. Disgraceful.

You could tell the lad was seriously injured. I honestly don't understand what goes through peoples minds upon times.

Sadly for Neil he was never the same player after that injury.

It happened right in front of me in the West and I remember a Sunderland player (possibly O'Shea) trying to calm our fans down about the abuse they were giving the Sunderland player involved in the challenge, as if Taylor wasn't on the floor with a shattered ankle. Prick.

Hard to imagine the career Ben has had since his days alternating with Joe Walsh on the left side of defence, at full back or at left side c/back during a season played in the Premier Reserve League in 2011/12.

Absolutely nothing between either player and with Walsh making his first team debut in a Carling Cup defeat at Shrewsbury, no doubt Michael Laudrup saw something in Ben's game that would see him not only become a regular place in the Swans first team the following season but also play in the Capital One Cup Final the following season.

Fair play to Joe Walsh too.

Life’s been good to him so far.

I was at that Carling Cup defeat at Shrewsbury 23/08/11, one of the more obscure games I've attended but definitely not as obscure as the FA Cup game away at Leatherhead in '77 or the pre-season friendly away at Hednesford Town, no idea when that was but must have been in the early 2000s I reckon :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
