Nice article this. A lot of us will remember his debut for the Swans. He stood out from day one. Well done Ben 👏

Not really one for sentiment in football and not many players who’ve returned (in recent years) have been a success, but I’d take him on a free next summer, in part for the off field stuff in the dressing room and the fact we’ve got very few ‘local/long term’ players atm.

I was devastated when Taylor broke his ankle, those feelings were soon replaced when Ben stepped up. Talk about seizing your opportunity.

I’d never heard fans boo someone that’s been seriously injured and carried off before those Sunderland fans did it to Neil. Disgraceful.

You could tell the lad was seriously injured. I honestly don't understand what goes through peoples minds upon times.

Sadly for Neil he was never the same player after that injury.

It happened right in front of me in the West and I remember a Sunderland player (possibly O'Shea) trying to calm our fans down about the abuse they were giving the Sunderland player involved in the challenge, as if Taylor wasn't on the floor with a shattered ankle. Prick.
