Between the cities of Swansea and Cardiff…

Port Toilet is blue, plus Darran.

That might have been true in the 1970/80’s but after Tosh it started becoming a bit more 50/50 but since 2011 and the PL years so many kids started following the Swans and dragging family along that i would say it is predominantly Swans now.

I see a few Cardiff shirts around Sandfields but mostly in blokes in their 50’s, my neighbour is a Cardiff fan and attends fairly regularly but in Baglan I would say it is less than 10%. Cwmafan and Margam mostly Swans.

Darren is not really Port Talbot he has lived in the Ferry and Cimla most of his life but he tries to hang onto his childhood haunts to get some credibility.

Lots of Jacks up here in Pentyrch, north Cardiff (plus the odd UFOs).

Those that go to away games may have seen a few Pentyrch RFC hoodies which are Swans colours.

I grew up in Port Talbot back in the Early to mid 80’s and would say it was about half and half, the older fans tended to be Cardiff and the youngsters (10 to 18) tended to be Swansea who’d been attracted by the success of the Toshack era. As time has passed and with the success of Swansea over the last 20 years the balance has swung towards Swansea.
What has surprised me is the number of Cardiff fans living in places like Carmarthen and Llanelli. While the majority are Swansea, there’s a sizeable number of Cardiff fans.

If you asked a random person from outside South Wales what they thought about when someone said 'Port Talbot', the answers would be:

1) Being the birthplace of some famous actors
2) Steelworks
3) The never-ending argument between Cardiff and Swansea fans about whether it's 'Blue' or 'White'.
