Anyone see anything?
I’m told by a very reliable sauce that a former poster from here who likes The Stone Roses caused a bit of a row by celebrating Grimes goal.

Something happened to a guy who was on his way out of the stadium.

He went flying, and I do mean flying, down the steps from about row T, and he had to grab someone at the bottom to break his fall, otherwise he would have been seriously injured.

The good news was that he got up afterwards and seemed alright, under the circumstances, as far as could be told, although he was limping as he made his way to the exit.

I do hope he’s alright.

Also a couple of Coventry fans in the West stand sho celebrated when they scored.
Some unhappy locals and stewards took the Cove try fans away for their own safety.

I know a regular on here who sits in row T, I hope it's not him.

I seen some close calls with people going down the steps.
I think it was Crawley in the cup when an elderly lady fell down the steps and her husband just went to ground and caught her head as it was about to hit the step...her husband had no 2nd thought and it was superb what he done and the fact that he was likely in his 70s or possibly older was amazing.

Maybe something for the club to consider, railings going up the walkways.

Agree with Magicdaps . Those long flights are really dangerous with no grab handles. I am not particularly steady on my trotters (even without a drink) and I would not consider a higher level seat for that reason.

I've been wearing glasses for reading since the late 90s but about 18 months ago I became legally required to wear glasses for driving too so now wear varifocals permanently and the first time I walked down the steps all the way from my seat in Row Y, I nearly came a cropper 3 times due to the change in my perception of the steps even though I'm quite steady on my feet for an oldie. Made me realise how dodgy those steps could be and I've taken a lot of care since but I can see there are always quite a lot of people who are struggling more than me. If there was a rail down the middle, I'd definitely welcome and use it.

I suppose one of the questions about putting a handrail there is would it interfere with some people's view of the game, particularly the ones closest to the aisle.

It is a problem and I see people hanging on to each other regularly both going up and down in the East stand.
A couple of years ago I had my leg knocked by a person lugging a suitcase on the steps of Waterloo station. I took a nosedive down about 10 concrete steps and ended up in A&E at St, Thomas hospital with a huge lump on my head, a badly bruised hip and six inches of skin missing from my shin.

I’d like to think they’ve done a suitable and sufficient risk assessment on it, taking into account any reasonably foreseeable risks, and any history of falls and near misses. It’ll also depend on what they deem to be a tolerable risk.

Ouch! 😵‍💫😵‍💫🤕🤕 I hope you got a very sincere apology from the suitcase owner 😡

I have to be very careful , going up the steps is ok going down i have to concentrate .
The problem i see with a handrail is if you fall your likely to hit your head on a post or rail .
It's a difficult problem to solve .
