• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

13 of the 20 teams there this season as well. Thankfully they have more local matches now.

Chelsea to Blackpool is some trek now but in 1963, before we had much of a motorway system, it must have been almost impossible for most folk.

Wwould have made a hell of a correct score accumulator...

Trains ran everyday, some parts of motorway were open by 1963.

The "some parts" of what later became the M6, in 1963 consisted of nothing more than the Stafford Bypass, the Preston Bypass and the Lancaster Bypass which weren't even joined together until 1965 while the M1 at that time ended just after Northampton so you still had around 170-odd miles to go to Blackpool with almost no motorway to speak of. Not for the faint hearted.

Knowing my luck, I would have done all of those scores except I would have gone for 10-0 Fulham.

If I was doing both teams to score Bolton & Everton would of been on my slip without doubt.

And the Ipswich goal would have been three yards offside...
