She insists kids who get almost half the questions wrong should not be awarded an A but I've told her "Get with the times, Granny".

Indeed, it took a bit of reading for me to get my head around how grades are calculated and adjusted, with WJEC for example. You can literally get an A with a mark of 50% sometimes.
