• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

If they entered France from another EU country, that would not be illegal if they had valid passports but the French are probably more than happy to get rid of them just as we would be so don't pour scorn on the French for doing something we would never dream of doing, that's pure hypocrisy. If we had lots of people in our country trying to get to France by whatever means, do you honestly belive we'd try to stop them and say "oh, hang on mate, you can't leave, it's illegal and the French say we are obliged to keep you here" ? You're having a laugh if you think that would happen. 😂
The argument for the French carrying on the way they are, IMO does not bear any weight at all. It’s just conjecture.

I could hardly see if your scenario played out, and the French blamed us, surely it does not wash presenting a hypothetical situation, to justify it, and excuse it.

I'm neither trying to justify what the French are doing nor excuse it. All I'm saying is that I observe what is happening and I understand why it's happening whether I agree with it or not and irrespective of who I think is to blame. If you don't accept that we'd probably do exactly the same things if the roles were reversed, then that's fine, you're entitled to that belief but denying that it's even a possible realistic scenario simply because it will never be tested is an extremely one-eyed view and seems to imply that you think we have the moral high ground.

I’ll be honest, In this situation, that the Uk finds itself in, IMO we certainly do have the moral high ground.

If I was in charge, and someone said “could you stop multiple boats leaving your country for ours” my answer would not be, that you would do the same thing in our shoes, it really would not.

This is not the odd isolated incident, it’s 600 plus people coming across daily and it’s not even nice weather yet.

I think making the French do a lot more, is the cheapest option.

Making the French do a lot more; easier said than done...

Yes, that is true. Of course it’s only talking away here, whatever we say will not make a blind bit of difference.

It’s kind of interesting if you think of how you could deal with a situation like this, which is on a lot of people’s minds, if you were the person in charge.

I think another option is to get the British Military involved, obviously they could work out the logistics to quell multiple vessels leaving every day.

Edit: And just to be clear, just in case anybody gets the wrong idea, I mean using the Military as manpower, and certainly in a non violent way, just feet on the ground, doing the french job for them.

Labour has let down Port Talbot, Plaid called for the plant to be nationalised but Labour laughed at them, then when the Chinese went to pull the plug on Scunny who at that stage was the only pebble left on the beach Labour sh*t themselves and effectively privatised the place which is going to be a bigger drain on the UK taxpayer like for like than Port Talbot would have been as Port Talbot had far bigger Blast furnace capacity and its own deep water harbour, Scunny is about 30 miles from the docks that it uses.

Labour has let down Port Talbot and Wales to save an inferior English works, it looks like anti Welsh racism by Labour.

And don't start me on the unions down there particularly ISTC or Community as they are now called, they are nothing but Tories who are hand in glove with the management and NuLabour, all the ones that I ever met were only in it for themselves and not for the people they were supposed to represent.
