Replying to myselfI guess the biggest question is, what could really be done to stop the boats? Even if a government is 100% committed, I can’t see them stopping it, by humane means. Unless you send a small army of people to patrol the shores in France, or once they come off the dingy to be put on a ship and returned straight back. No doubt whatever it would take, it would take an insane amount of money. And at the moment, i don’t think any political party is capable of that.
We could learn a thing or two from the Australians.I guess the biggest question is, what could really be done to stop the boats? I just googled that, is it right they use an island as a processing centre? At a cost of nearly 5 billion? Not sure of the number’s Australia gets, but if we adopted a policy like that in this country, I would think the cost would be a lot higher, just by the sheer volume of numbers arriving. Ultimately I blame the French, these dinghies arriving, are not isolated incidents, there must be around 30 plus leaving the French shores each day, and it’s not even summer yet. They must be held responsible,We could learn a thing or two from the Australians.

Fucking hell I asked one reasonable question gents, stop playing the victims. Which I obviously didn’t get an answer to by the way, which is par for the course.
In better news, I see that Yaxley lost his appeal today. Happy Wednesday.
Not blaming it, just pointing out what we were told.I’m no rocket scientist, but I feel you are having a go at Brexit?
Just blame bygone years? What does that achieve really?
Labour apologists? We've had mainly perpetual Tory rule since the Thatcher yearsLabour apologists, that's what they are.
It's been happening in Wales for 25 years and look at the mess the country is in.
I freely admit I'm not the brightest around, thankfully for me I'm Mensa level in comparison to you mate. Why not consider, that you are not the brightest spark.![]()
From BBC News page online,There's an issue of course, nobody is saying there isn't.
The irony is we were all told in 2016 this would be sorted and nearly ten years later... Well
People can call me what they want it won't alter my views of what's going on in this Country. I had hopes for Labour when Starmer became leader after Corbyn, but that soon changed after seeing a few of his challenges towards the Tories, performances of a wet lettuce useless.Agreed.
I'm getting fed up of people accusing others of either being radicalised by the media or thick because they have genuine concerns and view points that differ from others.
